reosarevok: all keys (sharps/flats included) are available in all modes in theory, but they are not necessarily used in practice.

As for capitalization, I don't bother, as long as there is some consistency: at least, [Dd]orian and [Mm]ixolydian should have the same capitalization as they both are modes of the same family.
For example, I know many people who capitalizes 'Major' and not 'minor' to distinguish more easily, but they don't use other modes.

ybsar: "all keys (sharps/flats included) are available in all modes" - I've argued this before, but as it is now, we're adding key/modes on an "as needed" basis.
Freso: I was answering "Plus wouldn't we still need a list of what combinations are acceptable for each mode?" This should not be a stopper into separating keys from modes.
But I am okay with the current list of keys/modes for now, since it fits the needs. :)

CatQuest
Freso: that could be possible to fix with that you can't sing up as a name that exists (unless it's you)
or that we could store "alternate name variables" so that "catcat", "catquest" and "CatQuest, the Endeavouring Cat!" are all variables, like "freso" or "Fredric Olesen" are variables etc etc

can you tell I'm trying very hard not to say "username aliases" or "user credits"? :P

Leo_Verto
no, I just wanted to provide the fontographologically correct unicode letter
CatQuest
uh oh Leo_Verto i didn't se you there
also ... is neither *a* letter nor a *letter* but punctiuation
probably this is a concept misunderstanding, but I have never understood why ... should be made into one glyph and take a the space of one glyph when it's clearly three dots
it serves so little adaptation too, if you want just two or four dots. what then?
