kepstin: thanks for your advanced rate limiter and explanations from yesterday… I have looked up for the rate limiting wiki guideline and, as I remembered, it says **max 1 request per second**. Is this page out dated ? https://github.com/jesus2099/konami-command/issue…

it is not in phase with the 503 error slow down pages, which say approx. **20 or so requests within something like 20〜40 seconds or something**

(i don’t remember exactly but I do remember that it says differently than the wiki)

i am looking for the place where it is said **max 10 within 10 seconds**

jesus2099: I think the idea is that it's 1 per second

But it's made more like 20 every 20 seconds or the like, so that it's more "generally that speed" and less "exactly always that fast"

I do use the max1/1s approach. I’d like to know if the max10/10s (or max20/20s) approach is either *banned*, *tolerated* or *welcome*. :)
that **45 per 20 seconds** is the one now I remember from the slow down pages… maybe we have various values, depending on if we usse the website or the web service(s)… ?

there is also 13 per 10 seconds and 22 per 20 seconds…

Freso: the spirit is 1 per 1 second but what is the most welcome approach for user scripts, is what I’m trying to find out

jesus2099: The rate limit depends on who is doing the requests, mostly determined by the User-Agent string.
