Hi ALL
-
I'm having issues with the api
-
I get a lot of 404 not found however when in look at the website there is images there for it
-
anyone experiencing the same thing?
-
KodeStar
hmm, have you got an example?
-
deery5000
sure
-
shut in 2016
-
has a background
-
web request gives me 404
-
ill get the url now
-
KodeStar
seems to be working fine for me
-
I can only assume you aren't using v3 or v3.1 of the api as the older api doesn't see new images for 3 weeks
-
deery5000
the accountant is giving the same issue
-
-
KodeStar
what url are you using?
-
deery5000
That id is for the accountant
-
lots of images there for it
-
-
ohhhh
-
the id
-
does the api use imdb_id or tmdb api
-
KodeStar
thats not the right id
-
you can use either
-
it checks if it starts tt
-
but
-
imdb probably isn't complete as it only adds it if tmdb knows what it is when it's added
-
deery5000
ok so trolls is giving me an issue here also
-
bad example first time
-
nope, not an issue
-
KodeStar
lol
-
deery5000
sry about this, buts hard to catch because its treading
-
threading
-
KodeStar
-
deery5000
Original_title "Nocturnal Animals" string
-
found one :)
-
KodeStar
if you aren't passing a personal api key then only images older than a week will be found
-
deery5000
-
IT HAS A POSTER
-
oops caps
-
it does happen quite a bit and it get a lot of 502 errs
-
KodeStar
which is 19hours old, only vip members would get that atm
-
deery5000
is there a rate limit on the api
-
oh ok didn't know that
-
KodeStar
after 48hours non-vips who have sent a personal api key would get it, then after 7 days those that haven't sent a personal api key would get it
-
deery5000
thanks
-
is there a rate limit
-
KodeStar
not a programatic one, but we are getting hammered with results atm
-
we have 1 server and 4 vps's answering api requests currently
-
*requests
-
deery5000
might want to bring that in , take a bit of stress off the servers
-
tmdb limit to 40 every 10 seconds
-
do u have a list of status codes for the api?
-
its not in the apiary documentation
-
KodeStar
yeah, it works or it doesn't, lol
-
iirc 403 if wrong or disabled api key, 404 if no images found
-
deery5000
502?
-
got a lot of these last night
-
KodeStar
is out of our hands, thats the server responding
-
deery5000
bad gateway I believe
-
KodeStar
what time did you get those?
-
deery5000
1am UK time
-
KodeStar
as it seems like every day ovh drop one of the ips for 15 minutes
-
niot that then, it was 21:13 UK time
-
deery5000
hmm
-
its not happening today
-
for the same movies
-
I like the api
-
I need to put my app on the windows store this week, if I generate some cash ill grab a vip account
-
is there a specific logo you use to show on apps
-
KodeStar
over the last month the servers have responded to 4.2billion requests
-
deery5000
That's great,
-
I hope the service continues
-
KodeStar
and at the rate our traffic has increased in the last 4 day at the end of next month it will likely be 5x that
-
deery5000
hosting images is expensive
-
KodeStar
well it's been going for 6 years now :)
-
deery5000
track it
-
dropped images because it was too expensive on a monthly basis
-
there a big site
-
KodeStar
trakt got some of their images from us, and a lot of the devs that used to use trakt now use our api
-
I have spoken to justin a fair bit about it
-
deery5000
I didn't use it , I don't really see the point in keeping a collection with them
-
i just manage mine from a database but ill move to cloud at some point
-
KodeStar
they are trying to shift 850TB/mo
-
deery5000
eh
-
a lot of storage
-
KodeStar
but I suspect that was just the limit cloudflare we putting on them as when they moved to our api we transferred over 300TB in just 3 days
-
until our service provider limited our speeds earlier this morning
-
deery5000
really
-
are u in the uk?
-
KodeStar
yeah
-
but the servers aren't
-
deery5000
running with BT?
-
Ah
-
KodeStar
we have 3 servers with
online.net for images, each server was maxing out the 2.5Gbps connection
-
2 in amsterdam 1 in france
-
deery5000
2.5 is a big connection
-
usually 1Gb got a business line
-
KodeStar
then the main API server is on a server in france on SYS with 4 supporting vps's also in france on OVH
-
they are limited to 250mbps and 100mbps respectively
-
deery5000
ok
-
u seem to be on top of oit :)
-
KodeStar
we had to add the vps servers as SYS decided the traffic to the main server was an attack and null routed the ip
-
so now we are balancing the requests between all 5
-
deery5000
load balancing is the best way
-
KodeStar
well it's just round robin, only option really due to the limited port speeds
-
deery5000
would you like to see some screens of my windows store app ?
-
KodeStar
sure
-
deery5000
developed by popular demand based on Movee8 created a couple of years back
-
cant upload image here but i can create a dropbox link
-
KodeStar
ok
-
deery5000
bah need an email address
-
-
try that
-
that works here
-
should be 11 images in there
-
you can see your fanart in image 10
-
love the disc images you provide :)
-
that's why i went with the api
-
KodeStar
just looking now, was getting a coffee
-
deery5000
the app will manage a collection on a network and allow you to cast to any networked tv
-
nice little streaming feature
-
KodeStar
looks good
-
deery5000
just passed certification on the store last night so I'm happy about that :)
-
KodeStar
I personally use plex
-
deery5000
1 bug that i know if at this point that i need to fix before i upload it
-
the colour scheme adapts to the colour chosen in your windows theme, so its not always that colour
-
KodeStar
but I could see yours being a decent solution for people that don't want to run a seperate media server as well
-
and are using windows
-
deery5000
:) that's the plan
-
I'm building a home cinema in the garden, this app will manage the lot from a single nas drive and the help of DLNA :)
-
roof for the outhouse goes on Saturday, looking forward to getting inside started lol
