cool - question for any musicbrainz users/devs out there. is there anybody deploying musicbrainz on a kubernetes cluster right now? if so, are there any potential pitfalls or gotchas to know about?

not on kubernetes that we know of -- but we run our production servers with docker and a set of custom crafted management scripts on top.

and "custom crafted scripts" is giving ourselves a bit too much credit. :)

yeah, since i'm starting it now in 2019, i feel like kubernetes is the way to go, especially since y'all have put in work to create the Dockerfiles already

i'm also wanting to get more experience with k8s

what data are you planning on feeding yours? will yours be open source?

i think we intend on using it to seed a graph of relationships between songs/artists but because the dataset is so vast, it will be useful in a variety of other ways

its currently open source but i'm not sure if that will be true in the future

what about yours?

we're starting with listenbrainz data, but soon plan to add acousticbrainz data after that.

we're just keen to build an open source recommendation engine and then throw the doors open for open source hackers to come in and use it and make it better.

i updated the proposal, addressing all your concerns

can you take a look again, i have added 7 days to picard

and asked zas and outsidecontext to let me know what they think about it

so that leaves us with 5 weeks for picard, half of gsoc almost

zas: AFT+1 it is, make sure you reach meeting in time.

between the first and second eval, do the gui and most of work on picard

and tie up the loose ends after second eval
