iggleby: do you want to try and add that file or should I? I think you have a more complete, non-production setup to hand
      • alastairp
kartikgupta0909: a question, are you signing the packages?
      • kartikgupta0909
rather I was thinking of running a blog post about the problems I was facing and solutions to them
      • alastairp
is that a requirement for uploading to launchpad?
      • kartikgupta0909
yes without them the launchpad doesnt accept the package
      • iggleby
I don't really know any java
      • Like I don't even know where to add it
      • kartikgupta0909
the sign should be from an authorised team member of that PPA
      • alastairp
kartikgupta0909: yeah, a blog post is a good idea, but I don't think we need to add detailed instructions to the blog posts
      • and is your membership enough to sign it?
      • or will I need to do that?
      • kartikgupta0909
        yes it is
      • alastairp
        ok, great
      • kartikgupta0909
I had to put my key on the launchpad page
      • and then it simply matches them
      • the key on the files i uploaded and the key I provided on the launchpad
      • also I have made a git branch for my server side code for this project
      • I ll be writing and pushing to that which we will have to merge to the master in the end
      • ruaok
iggleby: teamwork then. I'll add the file and make a branch, you try and deploy it?
      • iggleby
        Sounds good
      • alastairp
        great
      • did you read the forum posts which I made about AB development? https://community.metabrainz.org/t/development-...
      • we stopped discussion, but came up with some ideas. I want to try and come back to this thread this week to come up with some ideas
      • especially with the things we talked about this morning too
      • kartikgupta0909: please check the version of gaia and the version of the deb package you have (I see the package is 2.4.3 and the VERSION file says 2.4.4)
      • kartikgupta0909
yes I think this is the reason we are getting error
      • also do you think we should increment the version?
      • alastairp
        which version?
      • 2.4.3 to 2.4.4 or 2.4.4 to 2.4.5?
      • kartikgupta0909
        2.4.4
      • i mean I suggest we do 2.4.4
      • since we upgraded waf and this is the first time its going on ubuntu PPA
      • alastairp
that's the version of gaia, so the package should represent that
      • kartikgupta0909
yes, I made a mistake in that.
      • alastairp
do you know to use `dch` to add a new version. Don't edit the `changes` file by hand
      • kartikgupta0909
first I thought to change the version but then I decided not to
      • yes I do that
      • thats why the changelog file is correct and the VERSION file is wrong
      • alastairp
well. I think the changelog file is incorrect
      • kartikgupta0909
if we want to increment the version the changelog is incorrect
      • but an hour ago I was incrementing the version and trying to upload, but I got busy and forgot that change mid way
      • thats why this confusion
      • alastairp
        right
      • kartikgupta0909
I ll pull the code afresh
      • alastairp
LordSputnik: why does brainzbot PM me when I say VERSION at the beginning of a line?
      • that sounds really buggy. I would hope that bots only respond to me when I mention it

iggleby: on mmd-schema, try checking out branch index-load-fix
      • iggleby
        ruaok: ok, and search-server master?
      • ruaok
        yes.
      • iggleby
        ok - its building now
      • The test index is just building. Quick question though..... what does the freedb index do? Like if I specify '--index artist', omitting freedb, what am i missing?

        boo. :(
      • iggleby
I think I can try to fix it
      • ruaok
do you know what the problem is?
      • iggleby
I started researching from that stack overflow answer
      • I'm looking through the code now
      • ruaok
let me know if I should be looking at anything too
      • I have a little more time left today

bitmap: Hi; Need some help on resizing of columns. I want the columns to use available space and also user resizable. I'm trying this -> https://github.com/rahul-raturi/picard/blob/emb... but columns aren't resizable.
      • bitmap
I don't think Interactive can be used with Stretch
      • iggleby has quit
      • thought we had some code to do this for the metadatabox but I can't find it
      • I would probably just set some sane defaults for the columns sizes and use Interactive

      • (Though I expect most of it will be "getting ready for travel".)
      • Mineo: Sure! Sounds fun. :D
      • gcilou
Freso: ok. I sent you a link to a doc I think. There are some comments

well, I thought there used to be some code for calculating ideal column widths, but maybe I'm imagining things
      • that sounds like it's gonna be a headache though, which is why I'd just set some defaults
      • the qt docs are pretty clear that stretch implies the size cannot be modified
      • Leftmost
Freso, no update from me this week. My personal laptop is out of commission while I await a replacement power cord.
      • rahulr
bitmap: Yeah, but it's working for metadatabox.
      • bitmap
ah, maybe that's what I was thinking of
      • we set it to sretch first, then switch to interactive in restore_state
      • you can try something like that too
      • rahulr
        Ok. Will do.

      • Freso
        gcilou: Spoil sport. :p
      • gcilou
        :)
      • Freso: did you see the additions I made to the slides?
      • Freso
gcilou: Not yet, have been dealing with ISP issues, catching up on forums, arranging CA trip, ...
      • I'll get around to it. :)
      • gcilou

      • gcilou: Oh.
      • gcilou: I only meant for you to show off a single GCI project directly: your infographic.

      • And also the "data used by:" section on the mb slide..
      • Freso
I like that part. :) I have no issue with keeping or with disacring the GCI presentation slide. Entirely up to you.

      • Freso
        That's fine. It's your presentation. :)

is someone with a broken searchserver.war around? I'm fairly certain that you need to change https://bitbucket.org/metabrainz/search-server/... to "compile" and reinstall it (or manually add mmd-1.4.0.jar from ftp://ftp.musicbrainz.org/pub/musicbrainz/searc... to
      • your classpath/tomcat library path/whatever)

      • Oh well.
      • Let's get to it!
      • This last week has mostly been trying to grasp that I'm leaving for California in a couple of days(!!).
      • I did handle a couple of editor reports and I was around and about on IRC and forums.
      • LordSputnik
Freso: at least you miss the election crazies :)
      • Freso
