yeah...I saw the INCLUDE one when I was searching around
I only skimmed the discussion but it sounded like they didn't to add it 'cause it's a slippery slope into making Dockerfiles turing complete or something
there was a suggestion for just using gcc/make/#include...but meh
chirlu
Or m4 (the GNU macro processor), which is a bit less heavy than gcc. :)
bitmap
oh, that's definitely smarter :)
chirlu
(It’s quite nice, actually, I’ve used it for personalized mails to the members of my choir.)
bitmap
I'll look at this more closely
there are already some repetitious parts and hardcoded configurations

chirlu: you're in a choir? Neither of the artists with your name are listed as members of one, tsk ;p
chirlu
I don’t like the idea of tracking the membership of a 150+ members choir with a high yearly rotation in MB …
reosarevok shrugs
reosarevok
You don't need to add *every* member just to add yourself
But it's not like it's mandatory, so :)
chirlu
But why me and not the others, then? :-)
reosarevok
Well dunno. When I add a violinist to MB for something else who happens to be in an orchestra, I'll add them as a member, but I won't go and add everyone else to MB just because of it
(well I did a couple times for Estonian orchestras :D )
It seems it was renamed and changed in 44, and then eventually someone restarted a choir claiming to be it, and they just celebrated their 100 anniversary. Not sure how to deal with that tbh
But that will do as a start :p

QuoraUK_: aaahh (sorry I didn't think to tab you) that thing you're referring to would be what was called "referrals" Back in the Day™.
I mean, having default values for options that allow it would be nice
but just putting that feature flag there should be enough
kartikgupta0909
okay so first it loads the variables from the default_config and then it loads the values from config. If some variable is not set in config it will be taken from the default_config?
alastairp
ah, you didn't link to the init example, so I didn't realise you can do that in flask
kartikgupta0909
am i right?
alastairp
I was going to suggest doing the way people do settings/local_settings in django
but that looks OK
kartikgupta0909: yeah
Gentlecat: how does that work with default config and the config sample?
I guess both of them would be basically the same?
kartikgupta0909
but again arent the users going to copy the examply config file to config file anyways and they are going to change the values they want to change
alastairp
kartikgupta0909: the idea is to prevent errors when we forget to copy the example config
