Leo_Verto: well, most arent working for me. only 6 of them :p
      • Leo_Verto
Yeah, that was the problem last time too, but at least we have working ones instead of relying on DHT for everything
      • marc2k3: trying it out right now :D
      • SothoTalKer
both publicbt and openbittorrent are dead, it seems
      • ruaok
hmmm. if the gateway used the user name as the token to submit to LB, then a generic server could be run that could work for anyone.
      • that would be quite useful, methinks.
      • Leo_Verto
that would also solve all the http/https troubles by offloading it into a completely seperate service
      • ruaok
and a separate domain would be sufficient, yes?
      • Leo_Verto
yes, it just needs port 80 on any domain
      • ruaok
I think we can just run another container with the same image and let it be accessed on the compat endpoint.
      • Leo_Verto
        a whole seperate LB instance?
      • ruaok
not a whole instance, but another instance of the same docker image that listens to that subdomain for those API calls on non-https and forwards the calls to the other container.
      • Leo_Verto
I don't think that's even necessary, essentially a slightly modified (think multithreading) version of marc2k3's script would do the job.
      • ruaok
less code to use existing python code that is already deployed.
      • this may literally be only spining up a container and changing some gateway configs.
      • Leo_Verto
We found out about that yesterday shortly after you left the office, but the main problem is that Spotify uses the depreated 1.2 API instead of the newer, token-based 2.0 one (which has been around for 9 years now)
      • And we've only got compat implemented for 2.0 atm
      • ruaok
        ah, rats.
      • Leo_Verto
But it shouldn't be too complicated to write an endpoint for 1.2 in LB
      • but then again, that'd have those needs-its-own-domain and doesnt-like-https problems again so leaving it as it's own proxy service seems like the most elegant solution to me
      • iliekcomputers
Leo_Verto: opening a ticket for that would be helpful.
      • For the 1.2 compatibility, that is
      • ruaok
adding into the main codebase is import in so that people don't have to run a service, mehinks.
      • and sub-domains are free.
      • iliekcomputers
ruaok: Yeah, I agree. If it isn't much work (looks like it isn't), I'll do it side by side with stats.
      • ruaok
just branch off production, so we can get this out faster.
