there are a few meetings I want to have with smaller teams to make progress, before going to a wide summit audience.

e.g. WS/3.

If we discuss all the nuances in the main meeting, we'll never decide anything.

but a meeting with bitmap, samj1912, zas and myself and we can pretty much figure out what we want and then get feedback/sanity check at the summit.

I need to have a few of those, in order for the plenary to be effective.

I'll flesh out the schedule on the wiki as I go.

bitmap is the last of those two arrive on the 26th, would it be possible for you to have a quick evening/night meeting before tucking in? :/

In the past two weeks we've seen three hurricanes in the carribean, some islans being hit by all three of them, as well as two earthquakes and a hurricane in Mexico

Most of these areas are poorly mapped and accurate maps that include buildings can really help responders

Also that stuff is more addictive than adding data to MB :P

I've been doing StreetComplete for my town. It's very interested to know how the streets are paved.

Leo_Verto: Actually, I'd be interested in going for a walk with you or something. I'd like to be able to contribute/do more on OSM, but it's always seemed to scary and daunting to get started in it.

(and perhaps you need someone in the know to find a mapping app which doesn't suck)

Freso: Well, I actually only started 10 days ago with StreetComplete and then quickly moved to armchair mapping, they've got a great interactive tutorial (maybe something MB could use as inspiration?) for their in-browser editor and for more advanced stuff JOSM also works great

alastairp: I really want to add more street numbers. A lot of the time looking up an address on OSM doesn't work because it doesn't have the house number recorded. :/

(Which also spills over into open public transport apps like Transportr, as they then can't find addresses from OSM either.)

(But I'm very happy to see that StreetComplete asks for house numbers now, so maybe I won't need to get more "drity" with OSM than this. :p)
