chhavi_: did you work on the musicbrainz account creation page already ?

looking at a new user creating an account it seems to me it could be made more user-friendly.... for example, when the user chooses a nickname and this nickname is already used he has to go through captcha check twice .... <-- bitmap, yvanzo

the user case was the following: adding a discid to an existing release, from a CD opened through RythmBox (which is proposing submission to MusicBrainz), the user had no account on MB, and before he could attach the discid to the matching release he had to create the account, and verify it through email... the whole process is pretty common, but i think it can be improved so the path is more clear: he could actually

submit the discid before verifying his email address, but got an error about not being able to accept this submission, without indicating him the email verification was missing(it was very unobvious it was the cause).

Of course, i'll open matching tickets if needed, but i would prefer some "design" person to test first, and report back.

zas: no, not there yet! But this is definitely a crease we can iron out when we redesign!

I am personally keeping notes on docs as of now. Once Freso sets up workflow for design tickets, will add such pointers on the tickets itself!

iliekcomputers: acousticbrainz uses python2 presently. but maybe we can use tarfile.open(filename,'w:xz') once ab switches to python3
