even main renaming files sceme, so you wouldn't have top open up optinos to see if you've got the naming as with trackartists or no right away

yvanzo: on it
goddamn Vm
yvanzo: although I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, should it be that new release -> new medium -> ticked by default? doesn't that lead to the same problem, or are you referrign to something else?
yvanzo
naiveai: quite the opposite.
For example, if editor should be able to specify the language/script of an existing release where medium doesn’t have a specified format, without having to worry about that format. (Thus, it should be ticked by default for existing medium only.)

yeah, my VM has given up on life :(
again.
yvanzo
btw, it is not urgent
naiveai
so, currently, formatUnknownToUser is initialized simply as false - so the simplest solution would be to somehow find out if this medium is an existing medium, and base formatUnknownToUser on that.
but of course, there doesn't seem to be a way to find that out.
bitmap: ^
yvanzo: wait, how about this - since a medium cannot be made if it doesn't have a tracklist, that means that if a Medium object upon initialization already has a tracklist, it's already existing. Does that work?

no
naiveai
why not?
yvanzo
Not sure at least, because of seeded tracklists.

oh shit, yeah

hmm, I don't see a way to do this then.
since any property can be seeded, there's no property of a medium that can tell us whether it's existing or new.
maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way
yagyanshbhatia[m
hey, i installed picard today, and it gives error whenever i try to load any album. are the servers down or is this something on my end.
naiveai
yagyanshbhatia[m: even if the servers were down, simply loading an album won't error out. what's the error?
yagyanshbhatia[m uploaded an image: image.png (8KB) <https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/qaTQKykiKOiyTxzaClUhfMqt>
yvanzo: ok, leaving this for later. maybe bitmap'll have some ideas. i'm thinking that all seeded tracks are new, then it could be something like isSeeded ? true : this.tracks.length() > 0 or something, but of course determining if the track is seeded is another issue altogether
yagyanshbhatia[m: could you expand the 'title' column so that the full error is visible?

ah, make sure the that in options, under "coverart" the "cover arti archive" that "load only approved images" is unchecked. as that means it won't load pending coverart
(names might be lsightly differnt as I've got diff language here)
if that still doesn't wrok, you may look a the error messages. very occasionally there is errors dl the coverart. so if you can find the corresponding MusicBrainz release url
(another thing could be if "use amazon" is unchecked and it only has an amazon linked coverart, etc )
