samj1912: what did you want me to test with picard?
      • yvanzo
bitmap, samj1912: I am pushing the WS/1 fix to beta/prod
      • bitmap
        thanks ๐Ÿ‘

        morning bitmap
      • bitmap
        good morning
      • yvanzo
Can we consider dropping xml ws v1 soon?
      • zas
        let's discuss that during meeting
      • TOPIC: MetaBrainz Community and Development channel | MusicBrainz non-development: #musicbrainz | GSoC https://goo.gl/7jsjG2 | GCI https://goo.gl/8xSZem | Meeting agenda: Reviews, auto-actions on reports in MB (naiveai), ws/1 death

      • chhavi_
bitmap: managed to package it using chhavi_ 's mac , I just have to update travis to build it now
      • bitmap
        cool
      • chhavi_
        bitmap: do you have discid?
      • bitmap
        have discid?
      • I don't have a cd drive if that's what you mean
      • zas
        for info, yesterday's 200 answers for /ws/1 vs /ws/2: 54989 vs 20573347 ... a whopping 0.27%
      • ruaok
oh, that is a very good number to know!
      • yvanzo
        Good :)
      • Just note that WS/1 was broken since 1/24.
      • (It is back now.)
      • bitmap
just searches though, not lookups (right?)
      • zas
yvanzo: good point, i'll look for values before 1/24
      • drsaunders has quit
      • yvanzo
        yes, just searches
      • zas
        for 2018/01/23, 16943 /ws/1 searches with 200 response code vs 8726085 for /ws/2 -> ~0.19%
      • if i include all queries (not search only) that's 2.78%
      • if i consider all response codes, /ws/1 represents 0.7% of all incoming queries
      • yvanzo
If we use the same rules than for supported browsers, ws/1 search queries donโ€™t represent 0.5% share of (search only) traffic. Others are above this threshold.
      • alastairp
iliekcomputers: do you use the flask debug toolbar?
      • I think it's broken
      • it only initialises it if debug is True
      • but DebugToolbar requires SECRET_KEY to be set
      • and at least in AB and LB, we don't pass in a config_file to CustomFlask (instead we create the app and then load the configs afterwards)
      • rsh7[m]
alastairp: what is the reason of "Recording not found",even if it is getting submitted properly?
      • alastairp
rsh7[m]: can you show me a screenshot of the error? or better still, try and trace the API call which causes this response?
      • I'm not completely sure at which point this is happening for you
      • sorry, I won't be around for the rest of the night, but I'll take a look at it for you tomorrow
      • rsh7[m]

iliekcomputers: I've found a few items that make the scheduler stuff a little better/less confusing
      • in crontab, GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=/code/credentials/bigquery-credentials.json is missing the listenbrainz after /code
      • in Dockerfile.prod you have RUN touch /var/log/cron.log, but you redirect to /var/log/stats.log
      • crontab -u nobody /etc/cron.d/contrab
      • seems to fix the user issue

samj1912: where does picard 1.4.2 /2 save its userscripts?
      • because my unserscript form 1.4.2 was deleted after I used picard 2 (thoguh p2 had actually loaded those script whence i started it, now userscripts are also missing from p2)
      • this ofcourse after restarting 1.4.2

bitmap: can you help me a bit? https://github.com/metabrainz/picard/pull/821
      • can you run setup-osx.sh followed by package-osx.sh
      • oh you will also need to do `pip install pyqt5 mutagen discid` between those 2
      • ruaok
      • it seems to actually be pretty common. as long as the goal is to benefit the project that is part of GSoC.
      • samj1912
        so they will allow it?
      • we can then simply make a picard task to support all those formats then
      • ruaok
it seems common to do, yes.
      • let's wait another day for the gsoc team to chime in if they feel differently.
      • samj1912
        cool
      • I did tell lazka about this and he seemed interested, he said he will make a roadmap for mutagen and get back to me on what all needs to be done to implement the list of formats I gave him
      • ruaok
and we'd invite him be to a mentor for MeB?
      • (errr or her, sorry)
      • samj1912
him, and yes for a Picard idea
      • but well, it all ultimately depends on whether we find a student for this or not
      • its very low level hex code manipulation
      • since mutagen does not rely on any library outside of the python standard lib
      • ruaok
        oh joy.

      • Hi people. :) Last meeting of the first month of the new year!
      • iliekcomputers
        hola!

      • iliekcomputers: Go!
      • iliekcomputers
        hi
      • relatively productive week this one
      • Leo_Verto has exams coming up so nothing new this week
      • reosarevok
        Oh huh, it's Monday
      • iliekcomputers
worked with rob on LB dumps, found a way to shut cron down with the help of zas, samj1912 and ruaok :D
      • did some documentation of the structure of the dumps
      • ruaok
and yet we still don't have it working. :(
      • iliekcomputers
ideally this week we'll get it done
      • darkhorse
        i am up
      • iliekcomputers
other than that, we have finally dockerized AB
      • ruaok
        ohhhh, interesting.
      • iliekcomputers
thanks mostly to alastairp and ferbncode but I did some work there too
      • today I was working on setting up jenkins for AB
      • almost done with that too
      • that should be it, but i'm probably forgetting something.
      • anyways fin.
      • darkhorse: go
      • darkhorse
i was reading about picard multi threading this week.
      • And some other stuff of picard
      • that's it from my side.
      • samj1912, next
      • samj1912
        hello o/
      • so this week, me and zas were gearing up for the next picard release
      • Freso
        2.0.0, right?
      • samj1912
        yup :D
      • so that basically meants lots of code reviews and setting up the packaging system
      • Leo_Verto
        \o/
      • samj1912
I jussssst finished packages for both windows and osx
      • and now we should have daily builds for both
      • KassOtsimine
        :o
      • samj1912
it was a long long job and I am planning to write a blog on how to do it, since there was very less documentation on how to do it accurately and set it up on travis and appveyor
      • apart from that, we finally discovered a reason to let ws1 die
      • zas: will tell more on that later
      • fin
      • zas: go
      • CardinalWolseley joined the channel
      • zas
        hey all

      • Freso
samj1912: A blog would be great. :) MB or personal?
      • KassOtsimine
        oh damn blog!
      • eh sorry
      • samj1912
personal I am thinking since its for qt apps in general
      • zas
mostly worked on picard, trying to clean up things a bit before the release
      • discovered a bunch of recent features buggy as hell
