So, https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/STYLE-525 has been there forever

STYLE-525: Remove deprecated cover art relationship type

And we should deal with it, hence https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-9686

I wanted to check with others whether they think we should actually import all those covers that still use the "cover art at" relationship into the CAA or drop them

I don't think we should do an automated move. Maybe make a "call for action" and then after some deadline, simply drop remaining relationships.

I mean, technically, there's no difference - we already claim that is the cover art for the release, so we would just change how we store that claim

But we might not trust these cover art rels to be good enough, in which case I'm happy to just recommend dropping them

A call for action might work if we have a decent report of where these are used (is there a way to see that currently other than just a number in statistics? we used to have a report in the old rika machine, but)

Although I suspect our users mostly have better stuff to do with their time, tbh

So not really changing fast enough to assume they'll go away on their own

I still think at least a notice saying "hey, we'll remove any remaining relationships of this type on June 1st, if you have something using this, you should move it over to CAA now".

Freso: I'm not against the idea, but then we need to give people a way of seeing if they do

(Rather than just removing them overnight.)

i suggest a report we can go through, I'd no problem, wherein the image and origin link and the release is shown and people can just tick a "yes/"no" this is good/not ticketbox and then the "yes" ones get imported.

other idea: import it all wholesale, but make sure the comment for the images contain "MBS-9686 imported" or similar

I expect nobody gives a shit, but telling them "move them if you want" without giving them a way to figure them out seems odd

CatQuest: that report would be great if people cared enough, I just suspect nobody has the time/fucksgiven to build it :p

how much work would that report be? do we still have the code for it?

ruaok: we never had a report like that, we literally had a list of releases using the relationship with links

reosarevok: I just don't think we should drop 3500 relationship overnight. Worst case, people can edit search for edits adding the relationship. loujine could probably also very quickly whip up a report. yvanzo or bitmap too.

So I just wanted to start the conversation about summit t-shirts/any other goodies we plan to do.
This will give me/any other community member time to have the artwork ready and then we can order.

Also, if we want to stick with t-shirts or maybe have something else say mugs, or bags. Redbubble has a ton of stuff we can choose from.

carbon-design: IBM supported, amazing polished components, blocky experience on mobile though

ant-design: fluid on mobile, nice components, but we aren’t sure of the support/developers outlook
and semantic UI: not so semantic. but good support and components.
