yvanzo i think i might be dumb
      • It's possible I didn't run createdb.sh
      • which is amazing since there's not that many steps
      • seeing FATAL: database "musicbrainz_db" does not exist in the logs
      • although I would expect the static content to still load tho?

Hey, I guess ruaok will handled that, because it is likely related to what he was doing on it
      • ruaok
Yep. The import ran out of space. It was a gamble. :-( I'll clean up after coffee.
      • Thanks for making some space iliekcomputers

hi2all. Zas recommended to ask here instead #musibrainz. My problem is new version of picard (2.3) doesnt work for me at work - there i am using proxifier for proxy connection and it seems now it doesnt any network activity from picard, so cannot intercept network calls. Previous version is working ok.
      • zas
previous version was working? did you check (I guess you did) check proxy options in Picard?
      • what does the debug log say?
      • Darkloke
zas: I never enabled proxy settings in picard. It worked in default way (direct conection) and proxifier intercepted calls. Now log says: webservice._handle_reply:393: Network request error for https://musicbrainz.org:443/ws/2/collection: Network access is disabled. (QT code 99, HTTP code 0)
      • If i write proxy settings in picard, nothing changes too.
      • zas
but you can access musicbrainz.org through your browser on the same machine right?
      • outsidecontext
Darkloke: have you tried using the proxy settings in picard?
      • Darkloke
Yep, network is present if u mean that. I also can work successfuly with previous picard version. Also i cannot log in in new picard version and if i try to tranfer album from browser via "tagger" i also get an error.
      • outsidecontext
only thing I an imagine is the update to Qt 5.14 we did, and this has some internal changes to the networking module. so maybe this proxifier tool does not support intercepting those calls now
      • Darkloke
outsidecontext: Yep, i tried - no success.
      • zas
My take is that proxifier blocks Picard new app for some reason, though I have no idea how it works, did you contact their support?
      • Darkloke
I doubt it, it doesnt work as firewall, but it shows every app which tries to connect into internet. In picard case he doesnt show any activity at all. And no - i didnt try to contact support since i am using cracked version. :)
      • prabal has quit
      • ruaok
zas: my attempts to load timescale just aren't going to work on lemmy. not enough disk space to run both influx and timescale.
      • Darkloke
It strange for me though that it doesnt work with its own proxy settings, in that case it should connect evading proxifier.
      • ruaok
was it cage or wetton you wanted to free up?
      • I might actually play with the existing machine for a bit to see learn more about timescale under load.
      • zas
        wetton
      • Darkloke: sorry, but if you use proprietary app, cracked, on systems well known for their lack of security, I'd say "cannot help". Does Picard work when you disable this app?
      • ruaok: mb did well without wetton, even during peak hours, so we can rid of it.
      • ruaok
ok, great. thank you very much.
      • let me be in charge of wetton for now -- I'm not sure of my plans yet.

      • Darkloke
zas: i know that "thing", but i am using proxifier for several yeats, all my metwork activity goes via it, i ever played world of warcraft though it, so i suppose app is working ok, just some code changed in picard. And no - picard doesnt work w/ proxifier disabled.
      • zas
Darkloke: then submit a ticket, providing the complete debug log as described on https://picard.musicbrainz.org/docs/troubleshoo...
      • with all details we may find the reason it doesn't work in your env
      • outsidecontext: ^^
      • which version did you use? portable or the other? (that's on win, right?)
      • outsidecontext
Darkloke: Also make sure to use the newest version of proxifier
      • zas
There are Qt bugs that may lead to this, like the one fixed by https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+...
      • outsidecontext
But I can see in advance no big chance of this getting fixed in Picard, though. an update of Qt5 might at some point fix it, or an update to proxifier

      • the whole listen insert process, which right now is processing listens, doing a search and then inserting, reduces to the single query above

        Hi there!
      • I am Rui Xi (Sirius), a senior at Sun Yat-sen University. I have been watching GSoC 2020 since early this year and find your project, the MetaBrainz.
      • I get down to CritiqueBrainz's review aggregation and find it perfectly meet my qualifications - I have a firm grasp of Python3 and Flask web application development.
      • I have gone through the CritiqueBrainz webpage and registered an account. It is a fantastic platform with high-quality reviews. More reviews are the only thing that is missing (a review rating may also be good). I can contribute some RESTful APIs and UI widgets to the codebase. Meanwhile, I should add some ProgreSQL table to store external URLs and their previews. Also, I can write web crawlers to enrich its
      • content, if possible.
      • I read the CB-36 ticket carefully, and I also browsed the related discussion. I am really looking forward to extra materials to have a more comprehensive understanding of the project's needs. And, I am getting down to some good-first-bug issue once I deployed the CB system.
