Hey
I started looking at a way to add bono to our local network, using vswitch, not as easy it seems
ruaok
:(
zas
but I don't give up on this, just need more infos
also worked on Picard PRs, next beta is due this week
plus usual tasks, supervision, upgrades, etc. Fin. ruaok ?
ruaok
heyo.
I worked a lot on various APIs for supporting ishaanshah and iliekcomputers's work on the new world map.
of course talking about it here makes it somewhat documented, but hey.
the point is that we don't really know what these endpoints will evolve into.
I did code reviews and discussed things relating to collaborative filtering and the usual MetaBrainz background stuff.
if you haven't sent me your invoice yet, do it soon!
ishaanshah: go
ishaanshah
Thanks!
Hey Everyone!
Last week I completed the "Daily Activity" Frontend.
Continued working on the "Artist Origin" graph. The Backend is complete, now working on the Frontend to make it responsive.
I will try to get it done by tomorow
Fixed a minor bug in spark import code
Had a discussion with alastairp about the process of importing listens into spark HDFS. He has given some very valuable feedback.
I will look into it a bit more deeply after gsoc is over
That's all for me this week, fin!
reosarevok next?
reosarevok
Hi!
I've been converting more small files to React
And now I'm dealing with a lot of small tickets from the last week or so :)
I expect to release beta later tonight, and then do more of the same the rest of the week
Freso: go! (also, you can take CatQuest off for today he said)
Freso
o/
reosarevok
(nothing to report)
CatQuest
yeh nothing
CatQuest came back right now
Freso
Nothing much to report from me. Skulking about a bit and not much else.

Mr_Monkey: Go!
Mr_Monkey
Hi everyone !
Last weak I continued reviewing PRs, mostly from prabal's GSOC project
alastairp
Mr_Monkey: very weak, I bet
Mr_Monkey
Also continued working on the ListenBrainz pagination. That's now deployed and nice to use.
reosarevok
As long as the project itself isn't weak
Mr_Monkey
There has also been a flurry of activity on the website and forums following the arrival of new editors migrating from Bookogs, which has been really productive.
So lots of debugging, clarifying and discussion around that.
And finally, updated the BookBrainz website static pages (about, contribute, etc.) following some of that feedback, and to keep it up to date.
That's it for me.
prabal go !
(If you're connected)
Freso
prabal: Ping?
prabal

Last week we completed another feature
Freso
* (People still up: bitmap, yvanzo, alastairp, jmp_music, diru1100, shivam-kapila, _lucifer – anyone else who want to give review, let me know ASAP!)
and also picked back up on a branch to implement the basic form components needed for moving the entity edit forms to React
hoping to have a draft PR open today, just working out UI bugs in the release editor at present
also spent some time testing open PRs after slacking on that
not much else to report. fin, yvanzo?
yvanzo
hi!
sumedh joined the channel
Some more PR reviews, next MBS beta is due tonight.
Fin. alastairp?
alastairp
bon dia
as has been mentioned a few times already, last week I started looking at some machine-learning stuff in listenbrainz, starting with a discussion with iliekcomputers about a prototype that he built for artist-based recommendations
after a bit of a discussion about that, I spent some time getting a local listenbrainz + spark setup going, which included improving a bunch of documentation and tooling around listenbrainz and spark setup
I also found a few bugs, which ishaanshah pointed out that he fixed
I also had a look into critiquebrainz security issues, and did much the same thing - improved some of the setup instructions, and fixed some steps that had bitrotted over the last few months
I'll try and do a release of those changes this week
I also had a bit of a chat with ruaok about the short to mid-term future of critiquebrainz, it currently doesn't have anyone to lead development on it, so we need to make a decision about its future. I'm going to start by putting out a call for volunteers on the forums, and we'll see what comes out of that and go from there
I also spent some time with jmp_music_ reviewing his work for SoC, which is coming along really well
BrainzGit
[musicbrainz-server] reosarevok opened pull request #1629 (master…MBS-11001): MBS-10961 / MBS-11001/ MBS-11007 / MBS-11008: Block more smart/short links https://github.com/metabrainz/musicbrainz-serve...
(Only jmp_diru1100, shivam-kapila, and _lucifer left on my list. Last call for anyone else who want to give review!)
reosarevok
jmp_music_: that was a joke, go ahead >p
Freso
Eh. * diru1100, shivam-kapila, _lucifer
jmp_music_
haha! OK
reosarevok

last week was too busy! I had some chatting with @alastairp to finalizing the ML tool in order for the tool to be ready for the integration to AcousticBrainz.
Now the tool can train any model successfully. A project file is now created with various metadata for each model training. Furthermore, logging, as well as arguments parser from the terminal, were also added to the tool.
A prediction functionality was also developed for classifying each instance based on the relevant trained model. The corresponding logging class and arguments parser were also implemented for this sub-tool too.
Finally, the data transformation for the preprocessing was also updated and now each transformation step is saved locally to a .pkl file, that contains the relevant preprocessing Pipeline that can be later be loaded and used by the predictions sub-tool and thus improving the stability of the data preprocessing.
