        no more pinch flats
      • and small holes will auto-seal
      • ruaok
I find hardened tyres to work well. (puncture proof or so)
      • hmm.
      • how does one determine if rims can take tubeless?
      • alastairp
        you need tubeless rims
      • so I guess that's not an option for you unless you replace the rims
      • ruaok
I figured as much, but how does one determine that.
      • alastairp
mine say "tubeless ready" on them
      • ruaok
ah, a marking ok. alas no.
      • and I'm not about to mess with my human made wheels. they were strung by friends who knew that I am hard on wheels.
      • reosarevok
"Hard on Wheels" sounds like your crew name
      • alastairp
I'm just going to pick up a pair of these: https://www.veloflex.it/en/tubeless-ready
      • they've been well reviewed by everyone in the club who uses them
      • reosarevok
I guess at least you don't need to worry about spiky winter tires for the ice
      • ruaok
        heh. ice. lol.
      • alastairp
ruaok: btw, if you need new wheels in Barcelona, http://www.frasenworks.com/ is a friend of the club and comes very well recommended

      • Mr_Monkey
        Let's still aim for 1.30?
      • alastairp
easy. I'm not sure of many good places in that area that will have a terrace, perhaps we could meet L2 sagrada familia?
      • and have a look around. should be lots of places without tourists
      • Mr_Monkey
Yeah, there are once you go a few streets in any direction.
      • reosarevok
are tourists even allowed in still? :/
      • Mr_Monkey
        "allowed" is a malleable concept.
      • ruaok
as long as you present a negative PCR test that was taken 72 hours or less from point of entry, they'll let you in.
      • good luck getting a PCR test in that time.
      • Mr_Monkey
        * as long as someone is there to actually check your PCR, they'll let you in.
      • There, I fixed it

      • But it turns out it's difficult to control trains…
      • ruaok
not surprising, but is that a known problem?

        [mb-solr] yvanzo merged pull request #41 (master…SEARCH-624): SEARCH-624: Add status-id to results https://github.com/metabrainz/mb-solr/pull/41
      • ruaok
alastairp: any progress on the DB layer? can we get the PR merge ready today?
      • alastairp
ruaok: I'm just integrating it with API now. if you're around after meeting we should be able to get something done
      • ruaok
        that works.
      • alastairp
      • here we're returning an error if this name doesn't resolve. I think this makes sense to do here
      • ruaok
        hmm, fair point.
      • alastairp
from reading your comments, I think you are planning on passing in a list of usernames for collaborators
      • ruaok
that was my plan, but I see the inconsistency.
      • alastairp
I'm happy to do it either way
      • ruaok
if you can make the multiple user lookup function, I'm happy to call it from the API layer.
      • alastairp
e.g. you pass in usernames everywhere, and I raise an exception
      • or the api layer looks it up, and passes in both a username and id, and the db layer does no lookup
      • ruaok
well, right now many functions are setup so that user lookup needs to be done in the API layer.
      • alastairp
OK, I have the multi-user lookup. I'll update the api to use that everywhere
      • ruaok
to really make it more consistent would be to more of these functions to the DB layer, but that is more work that doesn't really make sense now.
      • so, lets pass user ids for all functions.
      • alastairp
        thanks for the confirmation
      • sure, we'll do that for now and see how it feels
      • mmm, I'm just thinking out loud on a related thing - edit_playlist doesn't allow you to set or remove a created_for
      • I think you're right with this decision. can we consider a case where we might want to change that?
      • a user can't change the title of a playlist that was created for them. I think that's fine too
      • Mr_Monkey
Yes, if they want to make changes they should save a copy of it
      • alastairp
        yeah, makes sense 👍

I investigated an issue we had with health status of floyd's postgresql
      • conclusion: our current health check script has issues, but that's not the cause
      • we (with bitmap) suspect consul stuff
      • so we started thinking about plan to upgrade, this has to happen early 2021
      • I also worked on a replacement for unmaintained git2consul
      • checked logs for suspicious traffic too, blocked a bunch of IPs, restarted mbws containers which were in a weird state, causing degraded performance (unexplained cause atm)
      • plus usual tasks
      • fin. yvanzo ?

        hi!
      • last week I mostly worked on updating MB search components.
      • Thanks to _lucifer for his reactivity in updating his PRs!
      • A new version of MusicBrainz Server has been released on Wednesday.
      • MB Docker will be updated after the upcoming search update.

        Hi!
      • A bit more React conversion, plus updating and fixing older tickets, mostly
      • *older PRs
      • Today I started working on setting BBC Music links as ended
      • (once I figured out how to make the bot set end dates and/or ended)
      • Tons of different rels to set as ended once that is done, and only that one will take several days as it is
      • Given our bot limits :)
      • I'll probably be working less than usual the rest of the month
      • Stuff is a bit slow because I have a ton of open PRs so a) I don't want to flood it even more and b) it's hard sometimes to remember what I'm already converting to React :D
      • Anyway. Freso, maybe? :)
      • Freso

      • Not much from me this week either, except I’ve gotten a fever and a sore throat, so that’s a lot of fun. Hoping to get a test tomorrow, but the logistics are a bit… :| Sweden is _finally_ doing actual shutting down though. It only took 9 months or so for them to take this seriously.

        Hi!
      • I spent most of last week working on the LB Playlist feature, tying up loose ends and adding exporting to Spotify.

      • I also did some housekeeping on BookBrainz, and opened a PR with a fair amount of dependency pruning and other efforts to reduce build time.
