in the NGS world, will recording.gid correspond to a url like http://musicbrainz.org/track/<gid>.html ???

or does it become http://musicbrainz.org/recording/<gid>; or do both become valid?

well, there are both tracks and recordings in NGS

they're different entities

at least as the webservice is concerned it's done at /ws/2/recording and /ws/2/track respectively

track is the thing on the disc; recording is the abstracted recording-thing

there is no separate track mbid in NGS afaik

track mbids turn into recording mbids
