There are cards which can be loaded in super markets etc, though I don't have a clue why that doesn't work for Lidl.

There is a supermarket (ALDI) where you can buy sim cards: http://www.alditalk.de/ I didn't find out yet if you need a german bank account and if you can reload it in the shop.

I would have thought you can do the same with LIDL..

it may have been a data only plan that didn't spell out the funding bits on the small card it was sold on.

I will try to check out some options for mobiles this night and I'll tell you if I find out more.

ALDI, LIDL, Edeka, Penny and Tschibo are the shops you can buy sim cards in, I think.

than there is also blau.de and o.tel.o which is found in electronic markets and the such

tschibo doesn't have many locations and isn't great. But for some reason my mom still uses that for prepaid (doesn't use data though)

blau.de is probably the one with the most places you can get it from and quite big

netto is a special version of the blau.de cards I think

in general it works well for sms and ringing to outside the country. i mean

It isn't easy to get good information from telephone companies at all, especially not something in english, which is a shame.

you can recharge and get blau.de cards at: Aral (gas station), Media Markt (electronics super market), Saturn (also electronics) Netto, Real (both super markets), Rossmann (drug store/super market)

since running that tells me that the table does not exist

that is what I am trying to do

but it tells me that musicbrainz_db database does not exist

steps I have done so far:

1. Downloaded latest VM image

2. Downloaded latest data set

now I want to import the data set but I'm stuck on dropdb

I've tried skipping dropdb and just running the import command outlined here: sted here: https://github.com/metabrainz/musicbrainz-serve...

but that quits and tells me the relation already exists :)

so one command thinks something is there but the other doesn't see it for some reason

(the import command I am using is: ./admin/InitDb.pl -- --createdb --import /tmp/dumps/mbdump*.tar.bz2 --echo)

look at the file lib/DBDefs.pm

search for READWRITE

right underneath what does the database line say?

database => musicbrainz

name changed I guess and docs not updated?

heh, oops

but now import command tells me database musicbrainz does not exist
