kepstin-laptop: you could find someone who’s competent at evaluating competency and get them to do it. ;-)
Gentlecat
oh, I've got old version defined in requirements
kepstin-laptop
hawke: how do you know they're competent at evaluating competency?
hawke
kepstin-laptop: Oh, just ask them of course. :-)
kepstin-laptop
well, if they answer, you know they're incompetent.
reverse not necessarily true :)

ruaok: ^ thoughts?
ruaok
did the old defined version take care of it?
jesus2099 joined the channel
Gentlecat
nope, same issue

ruaok
I have no clue, Gentlecat. :(
Gentlecat
what do you think about python 3?
ruaok
do you think this will really solve the problem?
Gentlecat
well, it supports SNI
ruaok
how about posting about this issue to SO and see if anyone knows before going down the py3 road?
Gentlecat
sure
and I probably need some sleep
will take a look again tomorrow
ruaok
that usually does help.
sounds sane
Gentlecat
but we really need this
ruaok
not arguing that.
kepstin-laptop
the other alternative is to put critiquebrainz on its own ip address; I dunno if you have one available you could use.
ruaok
maybe
thats a little inflexible for our future plans though
kepstin-laptop
yeah; the only stuff that doesn't support SNI nowadays is, hmm, windows xp and older, some linux distros from similar time periods, and apparently python2.7 :/
(I tend to just disable certificate checking on python 2.7, but that's obviously not something you'd want to do in any kind of production setup or official release :)
Gentlecat
vagrant with ubuntu 12.04
kepstin-laptop
hmm. ubuntu 12.04 does include a new enough openssl version that sni is supported there
is the code you're trying on github somewhere? I might be able to poke at it this evening and see if I can get it to work.
Notice for people travelling to the summit from or via Germany: You can now order train tickets for 2014-09-26.
nikki
heh, so probably just me? :P
chirlu`
(Tickets for 2014-09-29 will be sold starting on Monday.)
Well, me too. :)
nikki isn't sure how Mineo plans to get there though
nikki
I just mean you don't have to announce it in here in order to buy your own tickets XD
chirlu`
That’s true. :-)
Hm, even the direct connection Berlin – Copenhagen is still available for EUR 39 (EUR 29,25 with a BC25).
nikki
heh jeez, fastest train "only" takes 9 and a half hours
if I weren't already planning to get the night train, I would be convinced to by that
ruaok
heh. I could do it in as little as 2 changes, which is surprising. but for nearly 25 hours.
nikki
via where?
ruaok
Paris Nord, Köln
nikki
huh
ruaok
vs
Perpignan, montpellier, mulhouse, basel, hamburg.
in a mere 28 hours.
I'll fly for 3, for a fraction of the price, thanks.
nikki
it tells me to change at hamburg, but maybe that's the bahn site being stupid again, like when it suggested going from here on a train passing through köln to somewhere in the ruhrgebiet in order to get the night train that was also passing through köln, so that I would have even less time to sleep
I ended up having to manually tell it I wanted to go via köln
ruaok
hamburg is the gateway to denmark.
you have to work to not go through it when going to denmark.
nikki
I was just huhing at the direct connection from köln
since it wasn't showing me that
ruaok
its CNL40457 is you wanna look it up.
nikki
oh, the night train
ruaok
22:28 from Köln.
nikki
I thought you meant a regular one
ruaok
yeah.
nikki
wtf. even searching köln to copenhagen it suggests getting the train to hamm in order to get the night train that's supposed to be coming from köln
chirlu`
The CNL starts in Dortmund, it says.
nikki
I dunno why :/
hmm
in the booklet thingy it says it's not running between emmerich and dortmund for part of june and only running to flensburg for part of july and august, nothing about any alterations for september
