other thing I was wondering, is there a better term than remix for when one track takes an older track's vocals and uses them in such a way to create a duet with the artist?

specifically, Kato Miliyah's Jounetsu took UA's song Jounetsu and used UA's vocals to do an R&B duet song with MIliyah

Never heard of that type of 'remix', I think. It's probably so uncommon that there won't be a special AR type.
