I can see that the separate discography link might be useful to datafeed customers even if it goes to a page on the official site
20:03 PM
BrianG
inhouseuk: i'll jsut make my own discograpy and link to it so people will stop pouting ;)
20:03 PM

yes, I'm all for direct buying from the artist or the artists prefered retailer.
20:05 PM

unless it's itunes.. apparently
20:06 PM
mudcrow
itunes is a pain, I dislike anything that forces you to install software to view something, or any link that insists you sign in to view something
20:06 PM
BrianG
understandable
20:07 PM
mudcrow
I use itunes and still half the itunes links just show a page saying I must have itunes to view

i used itunes music store for the first time the other day. i have to admit that it has great features and a sweet front end.. being able to preview songs and leave reviews and such, but everything under the hood just skevees me out (DRM and ACC or M4a and such)

hmm... am I the only person that thinks the UK eurovision entry sounds like a rip-off of Where Is the Love? by Black Eyed Peas
20:11 PM

20:16 PM
BrianG is listening to Faith No More - Who Cares A Lot (Greatest Hits)\Disc 1 - 0. Epic (4:52)
20:16 PM
mudcrow

20:16 PM
catmo

20:17 PM
inhouseuk
it seems the 14 track version is out of print
20:18 PM

the 14 track version is the american version...
20:18 PM
catmo

20:18 PM

20:28 PM

20:28 PM
catmo is unsure in what to do
20:28 PM
mudcrow
but all amzazon would be imports for you
20:28 PM
catmo
yes
20:29 PM
so I'd rather not import an import
20:29 PM
:)
20:29 PM
nikki_
gaaaah!
20:29 PM
dammit amazon.
20:29 PM
why do you keep deleting things!?
20:29 PM
catmo
pluss its good basis to work with keeping imrts at a minimum
20:29 PM
whats happening?
20:29 PM
nikki_
it's deleted a single I wanted to link to
20:30 PM
catmo
shite
20:30 PM
mudcrow
use the UK ASIN and make a note that it shows the incorrect track listing
20:30 PM
catmo
yes. thanks mud
20:31 PM
nikki_
>_<
20:31 PM
I'll just have to link to a bloody import
20:31 PM
catmo
damn.. dakar nikki
20:31 PM
nikki_
so much for "an asin is the same on every server"
20:31 PM

20:32 PM

20:34 PM

20:34 PM
catmo
yay black dog again
20:34 PM
lauri
and oddly there are quite a few on .co.jp too, but hunting them down across all of them is usually pretty sad
20:34 PM
catmo rocks out
20:35 PM
catmo
yes
20:35 PM
I will use the annotitaion to link jp links, they sometimes have katakan tracklistings
20:35 PM
will add once multiple tracklists per album is on
20:35 PM
that will l be fun
20:35 PM
lauri
anyone got a script to search all the amazon's at once?
20:35 PM
catmo
do I get to add english translations to norwegian albums?
20:35 PM
dunno
20:36 PM
but you can with the a9?
20:36 PM
lauri
i think i have a konqueror shortcut for that, i will see if i can't steal the query outof it and toss up a page
20:36 PM
a9 usually only searches one of them for me,maybe it's an option
20:36 PM
catmo
its an option
20:36 PM
you can chose jp, uk and de afaik
20:36 PM
and ca too
20:36 PM
it default searches com
20:37 PM
lauri
oh yeah, you can add them as other columns
20:37 PM
that'll do
20:38 PM
lucky i have a wide screen on this machine heh
20:39 PM
lol, that gives bizarre results
20:39 PM
catmo
oh?
20:40 PM
lauri
searching for john hiatt's "warming up to the ice age" gives me it as an import on all of them
20:40 PM
catmo shakes head
20:40 PM
searching .co.uk directly shows it there, as not an import
20:41 PM
which is kinda bizarre, given the artist (why would he have this one 20 year old album remastered and re-released in the uk)
20:41 PM
the asin is the same on them all though, neener neener
20:42 PM
catmo
amazon == wtf
20:42 PM
omg I love this opera
20:42 PM
it has not inbuilt spell check
20:42 PM
zomg joy
20:42 PM
it has now*
20:44 PM
lauri
heh, that's cute
20:44 PM
his official site discography suggests you visit a fan made one for better info :)
20:44 PM
catmo
lol
20:44 PM

(which is fair enough, us music nerds are way more obsessive than most of the artists are :)
20:44 PM

how.. sinsere
20:44 PM

20:44 PM
aw whatever
20:44 PM
:)
20:45 PM

20:45 PM
catmo
sweet

even for all the compilations and soundtracks, this is a treasure trove
