Freso added two more NATs :x
Freso
Shouldn't that be renamed to NRTs, btw?
juhae
NRT stands for?
Nuclear Rearmament Timetable? :)
Freso
Non-release track. As opposed to NAT = Non-album track, since album is Old/Deprecated/WhateverTerminology.
HairMetalAddict
demo or something gets tossed up on the artist's website. It gets put in NAT. It's "released", though not on a disc. NRT wouldn't be appropriate.
Freso
Well, seeing as it would be released if on a DVD or casette (what's the abbreviation for those again?), neither of which are considered "albums", would they then be NATs? No, because MB (now) deals with releases, not albums, so their tracks should be listed by their DVD or casette.
Besides, demos are still releases and should be entered as such.
(See Flax in Bloom for an example of your scenario.)
Foxhunters also only have a casette (demo) release in the db, but the tracks on it aren't on any album. (Foxhunters never made an album. They did make a demo CD as well, but they're keeping that one very close.)
toggle, or even better: allow the user to choose what ar groups he wants to see
f.ex. i like to see "is a cover of" ars and such, but i couldn't care less about those "has xx performed by" ars :)
keschte thinks there are 2 groups of ARs
keschte
liner notes, and featured artists which are on the cover
but the ARs make that distinction
+don't
the issue is, i did not even bother to enter the info if its not shown on the album
now it is, and therefore its a motivation to enter the info.
inhouseuk is concerned about the load to the database server afaik, not the UI
Shepard
I think he is concerned about both :)
nikki_ yawns
keschte
you're note is quite right.
=your
nikki_: hush, test the fullwidth ascii conversion
:)
nikki_
oh
not right now, I can't even see properly yet
keschte
juhae: the "is cover of" AR is one of the troublesome ones :)
just look at a track which has been covered a lot
Shepard
I could start linking every version of a track to the original release, that would be fun in the display then :D

Hmm... There's an album that just says "Amen Andrews vs. Spac Hand Luke" on it
And both "Amen Andrews" as well as "Spac Hand Luke" are performance names for Luke Vibert.
UserErr0r
lol

How would I best solve this? Create a collaboration artist "Amen Andrews & Spac Hand Luke" (with ARs to Amen Andrews and Spac Hand Lukee) and attribute the album to that?
