If it's just fields you're filling in you can easily keep "Bob Marley & The Wailers" in one and "The Upsetters" in the other. That way the database sees them as two not three.
      • brianfreud
oh, I just meant don't autosplit the collab artist into 3 &'s for the user to lookup... give the user some flexibility in selecting how many and who the comprising artists are
      • Kerensky98
        i see
      • brianfreud
"Tom Jones & Peter, Paul, & Mary" would otherwise force you to pick 3 artists, not 2
      • but for the MIP side, their intern (and us) would be cleaning up the collab &s we already have, and something like this would help to avoid more un-AR'd collabs being created into the future
      • ...then NGS :)
      • ruaok nods all around
      • So perhaps a "feat" performer checkbox, a third type of artist, and auto-collab AR creation fixes the other issues. ok ruaok, sorry for the tangent :)
      • FauxFaux
        Right!
      • CatCat: Pong, now I have some time and can actually breathe. Or was it the same question as yesterday? :)
      • (All you can eat chineese + cycling -> BADNESS)
      • ruaok
        barf-o-rama?
      • Kerensky98
On a bike having it come out the other end can be just as bad.

[Global Notice] Hi all! To those of you relying on tor for connections to freenode I am terribly sorry to inform you that non tor-gpg (http://freenode.net/irc_servers.shtml#tor) connections have been blocked. This block may be in place for at least a number of days while we try to deal with systematic abuse. Again, I apologise for the inconvenience and hope that we will find a solution soon. Thank you for using freenode and have a good day!
      • FauxFaux
        I survived.
      • After about an hour lying down. :)
      • Kerensky98
Ahh, so similar symptoms to "Taco Bell-itis"?
      • brianfreud
        ol
      • FauxFaux: did my note to you about a NAT report make any sense?
      • FauxFaux
I thought so, but I don't see how it'd be useful?
      • brianfreud
would find NATs that aren't NATs...
      • Shepard`
Shepard` is now known as Shepard
      • nikki snickers
      • nikki
"Alles Was du Willst" is supposed to be "Alles was Du willst"... I find it amusing that the only word which was supposed to be capitalised (other than the beginning) is the only one not capitalised
      • nikki prods MClemo
      • MClemo
        huh?
      • MClemo got prodded
      • nikki
        ah, there you are
      • nikki was wondering if you can understand http://musicbrainz.org/release/d86f67b6-5aaf-4e98-890c-f658347adee4.html more than she can ;)
      • MClemo takes a look
      • I tried to fix the capitalisation, but since I can't even work out what half of it means, I'm not too sure
      • MClemo
        the capitalisation looks good
      • nikki
        woohoo
      • MClemo
        :)
      • MClemo tries to find out who "A klana Indiana" is...
      • seems to be party music for germans on majorca
      • real classy ;)
      • nikki giggles
      • nikki
my mum is obsessed with majorca
      • it's the only place she'll go on holiday
      • MClemo
and do you party to music by "A klana Indiana" with germans too? ;)
      • nikki
        never heard of them :)
      • nikki was checking the add albums marked as german
      • MClemo
        I guess that's not a bad thing ;)
      • MClemo is too stupid to search for those
      • can you do that with the "advanced query syntax"?
      • nikki
the advanced edit search has an option for language
      • MClemo
ha, too early in the morning
      • nikki
but only add release and edit release language actually have languages assigned :/
      • MClemo
got the add release edits now
      • http://musicbrainz.org/show/release/?releaseid=... lol, I had this release! too bad lost it, heard volume 1-3 are now worth something
      • of course a duplicate
      • nikki
        yup
      • MClemo
already voted down. That was quick :D
      • nikki
        hehe
      • MClemo
someone added 11 discs, always http://musicbrainz.org/doc/DiscNumberStyle done wrong
      • nikki
        :/
      • MClemo
I don't know most of the artists of those 75 add release edits
      • nikki
        hi luks
      • Jormangeud
      • xlotlu
ugh.. no trace of the 28-disc julian bream edition
      • guess it's time to get my hands dirty
      • FauxFaux
        Noooo!
      • xlotlu
FauxFaux: you wanna do it? :)
      • FauxFaux
        Noooooooooooo!
      • xlotlu
weee, there's 1 disc out of 28, messed up :)
      • what are the odds for a release to have the same cat. # with the barcode?
      • Shepard
        hm?
      • xlotlu
nvm. they are (almost) the same
      • Shepard
you mean within one release? many labels (the major ones mostly) use parts of the barcode as the cat#, or even the whole barcode
      • Aankh|Clone
Aankh|Clone is now known as Aankhen``
      • xlotlu
Shepard: i know, but this one was *exactly* the same
      • but then i discovered i needed a 0 in the beginning and a 3 at the end to make it a valid ean code :)
      • phew, 1 release down. 27 more to go.
      • pae
        hello
      • can I tell picard to create a directory and move tagged files there?
      • I tried putting %artist% - %year% - %album% in the "move tagged files to this directory" text box, but it just creates a "%artist% - %year% - %album%" folder and puts the files there
      • nikki
pae: well, it's doing what you told it to...
      • pae
ok, but can I tell it to create folders based on tags?
      • nikki
        yes
      • pae
could you please tell me how?
      • nikki
well, I don't really understand what you want it to do... if you don't tell it which folder in which to make the folders, the only place it knows where to make them is the folder the files are in in the first place
      • because it can't mindread
      • pae
        ok
      • let's say I have a filder names "music"
