think it'd be worth doing one final release to make the thing use puids instead of trms?
petros bites tongue instead of calling those kind of people names
ruaok
I refuse.
And no one but me has been able to get it it to compile.
ojnkpjg
oh
ruaok
what I am playing with is the idea of a different UI bolted on top of picard that is more track oriented.
I don't even have the tools around anymore. not to mention the lack of a windows box.
ojnkpjg
is trm still slated to go away with the next server revision?
chefkoch
chefkoch is now known as chefkoch_AW
ruaok
yes. next schema change release.
petros
Can't we just write a provocative page daring them to "get on the train" instead of being more stuck in the past than a movie with Cliff Curtis?
ojnkpjg
so how many GB smaller will that make the DB :P
ruaok
petros: no. the track oriented users are the most hateful internet users.
they give nothing but pointless spiteful feedback about the best tool ever being ripped away from them.
ruaok rolls his eyes
stupid idiots.
ojnkpjg
yet nobody's bothered enough to do something about it and write something better
those are the best kind of users
petros
have we aver had measurable problems with badmouthing 'lusers'?
ruaok
ojnkpjg: well, those who complain loudest are the ones who are least likely to do something about it.
ojnkpjg
that's usually how it goes, yeah
people who feel entitled, for some strange reason
ruaok
petros: I've experienced more than my fair share of getting hate mail from these people.
ojnkpjg
but won't do anything about it
ruaok
and I always have to smile and apologize to them.
petros
you "have"?
can't you just ignor them?
ruaok
the customer is always right and shit.
you catch more bees with honey than vinegar.
they make too much noise to ignore them.
petros
Good thinh I'm not in sales then
ruaok
you need to stroke their ego, bat down their fur and try and make them shut up.
petros
Whatever happened to buckets of water flung with gusto?
ojnkpjg
what i like about my job is i almost never have to deal with end users
ruaok
it gets in my keyboard everytime
ojnkpjg
i'm insulated doubly, first by support, then by project management
problems only get escalated to engineering if it can't be solved by those to groups
er, two
i feel for the support people
petros
I wouldn't be. I wouuld just help them while pondering how to write a follow-up to Kornbluth's novellae about travels to Venus in the meantime ;)

hi
sorry, I'm a bit lazy to find this in the docs. If I have mix ExtraTitleInformation and feat. ExtraTitleInformation in which order should I write them?
MClemo
huh... I'd put feat. first
akiel
thanks - do you have a reference to the docs?
Shepard
akiel: it depends
akiel
ah it depends nice :-)
Shepard
if someone featured on the original version, put the feat. first
if someone only featured in the remix, put the feat. last :)
akiel
ok the other way: I have the following on a CD back cover:
Shepard
(that's what I've been doing anyway)
akiel
Twenty fingers feat. Gillette - Mr. Personality (Radio Mix)
its on a sampler
what should I do?
Shepard
I guess the featuring artist is on all versions, so I'd put it first and append (radio mix) to the end
akiel
yes this sounds good
I think it should be Celebration (radio party rap)" not "Celebration (radio Party Rap)" as guess case suggests - am I right?
or "Celebration (Radio Party rap)" ?
Shepard
radio party rap, I'd say
guess case can only guess, not know :)
akiel
maybe "rap" should be included in the lower case words - like mix

I never realised before... this is a perfect channel to ask for music recommendations
Does anyone know if the searching for the MB database is based on Tsearch2 and Trigram modules in the PostGreSQL server?
BrianFreud

ruaok

trying to read up on it before I ask too many questions, but while your still here, could you tell me how the database and lucene interact? Does lucene require its own dictionary sorta thing, does it get its dictionary from a database query, or does it itegrate directly with postgre via some module?
