dang, why does MB write so slow? takes several seconds per file, sometimes it'll sit there for a minute or two before deciding to write..

Anyone had any experience with storing mp3's on a remote server? Personal webserver, mp3tunes etc..

I added a song into foobar, it just pulled the filename down, but when I played it all the metadata did show up

metadata is not pulled over http stream using ampache

you'd need to... shoutcast it, or something

navap: I use jukefly to stream my music, the flash interface is kinda gay though, and it's windows only for the time being

I've used that, but its not streaming off a server, its off your computer

Well I've been playing with the idea of hosting my music on my linux webhost

yeah I wish I could do that too, storing my music without raid makes me kinda nervous

Well I'd have everything locally stored/backed up, but I have quite a bit of bandwidth from my webhost, and plenty of diskspace..so I've been thinking of getting a couple of peoples music collections and sticking them online and streaming them

I've used various softwares and services to stream music from my computer out..jukefly, vibestreamer, daap, itunes, hamachi, wmp...and tons of small no name forgotten ones lol

Just recently started thinking of an online solution, because the one drawback of hosting myself was that I have a limited upload of ~75-100KBps...so everything ends up being transcoded :(

And if a second person starts streaming..well lol good luck

I tried the software, don't have the hardware, from what I remember of it, it was "nice"...nice to look at, and that was pretty much it

i have problems with an MP3 file which Picard shows as being bad

but it works otherwise everywhere

i'd hate a single “part of box”-release myself :)

that's my biggest fear: after spending 9234972394 hours on such a box and after returning from holiday half of it is merged in single releases ;-)

you can't leave on holiday.. you have to stay online and guard your box releases! ;)
