their japanese wikipedia page uses that as the title, so I think it's fine to add it as an alias

and the album covers on amazon.co.jp use beatallica, so it doesn't look like it's a completely different artist thing, just a transliteration which is probably included on the obi so the japanese people can read it

IMO it's always fine to add alternate language versions as an alias -- whether it's helpful is kinda questionable, but it shouldn't hurt.

aliases are pretty much only search hints now anyway

i wouldn't tag them in picard anyway, you'll lose the per-track cover art

registration has always been optional for their software. Although I think the slim "radio" needs registration, but you won't be using that

inhouseuk: I'm registered with Logitech support anyway, so I didn't mind very much. It allowed me to disable "sending statistical data", and it's Open Source, so I'm not too worried about it doing anything indecent.

Ah, I see, there's a box on eBay for €150 called "Logitech Squeezebox Duet Receiver", that's only the "extension box" and not enough to run stand-alone or only with the squeezecenter software?

i think you'll need a controller to configure wlan, but otherwise it should run standalone, with the web gui as the interface

I don't use Wlan, for religious reasons.

it says “Squeezbox Controller required for network setup”, but with ethernet and dhcp, i'll guess it'll work

I'm just watching the video demonstrating the controller. Perhaps I'll get a real Duet for xmas if the crisis doesn't hit too hard.

Picard seems to be storing the ALBUMARTIST tag as MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMARTIST in my FLAC files. It could be intended behavouir - I wouldn't know. But I would like it to be stored in ALBUMARTIST since it isn't grouping my albums in Banshee properly. Ideas?
