should be ok as long as no fields conflict.

modbot checks an assumed state of the data against the current data. if assumed meets actual the change is applied. If not, you get a failed prereq

What about if the format was blank, and there is a pending edit that changes the date, and adds CD as the format; but I've come along and added a label/catalog and also added the CD. Will the pending edit just merge the two CDs?

it works quite well for high-pitched jpop like songs. if you don't know it's not a human, it will take you a while to realize it.
