"Please read the Style Guidelines, then provide the necessary information about the new Artist below. " on the Merge Artist form... incorrect (due to being the same base template as add Artist) - but also rather redundant
anyone disagree with removing that bullet?

rexroom: "Last.fm Radio has always been ad supported, which means we sell ads on the site to cover the cost of running the service and paying the music licensing fees... we simply can’t be in every country where our radio service is available selling the ads we need to support the service."
rexroom
I know
creature
Sorry, I thought you were saying you didn't understand the reasons for the change.
rexroom
if I didn't understand the reasons I probably wouldn't be a automod :P
an
I'm just curious about the reasons and reasonings why camp A gets free radio while camp B can't

luks ponders writing his own private audioscrobbler-like website
warp
luks: are you aware of the libre.fm project?
luks
no
warp
luks: well then, now you are :)
LotR
... warp beat me to it
I have been pondering it for a while now too
warp
luks: mattl and some other people have just started writing a free software / free services audioscrobbler like website a few weeks ago.
aCiD2
woo, MooseX::Bitmask hits 0.04
now if my PAUSE account would be approved, I can put this on CPAN >.>
luks
hm, no, this doesn't sound like a good idea
LotR
luks: why not?
luks
it's php and it looks like bad php
outsidecontext joined the channel
LotR
ah. :) let's do a competing one in Perl!
warp didn't realize there was good php. :P
luks
there is not-so-bad php
but this is definitely not it :)
LotR
hmm, wait. luks dislikes perl too, right?
warp
luks: i'm not too keen on their choice of php, but understand their reasons for it. I haven't looked at the code.
see how it check if "lc $flag" exists and then uses "$flag"
aCiD2 nods
+s
aCiD2
there we go, thanks
luks
I think it should also complain if you try to use an unknown flag
using the function method, you would get an error
aCiD2
I'm not sure what to do about that - it could die, it could warn, or it could just return false (as that's technically correct - it doesn't have that flag)
aCiD2 goes to check behaviour of the enum type constraint
luks
if you use a flag it doesn't know about, it's an error
I'd make it warn, at least
aCiD2
Right, it should probably do something
warp
musicbrainz gets some peculiar support@ mails.
outsidecontext
just because you talked about him: mattl is asking about available source code over at the last.fm channel ;)
luks
isn't that more or less expected on a suppoer mail?
i had a 3 hour commute when I started working at my current job.
luks
nope
warp
5 hour train + 1 hour bus every working day. fun.
luks
ouch
warp
'only' had to do that for 6 weeks though...
aCiD2
warp: nasty...
lots of time for reading though :)
outsidecontext does that every 2nd weekend
warp
aCiD2: at the time I didn't have a laptop... and i'm usually not much of a reader (unless it's coding books). i mostly spent my time either sleeping or on a gameboy.
luks
sleeping is definitely the best way to spend time on a bus/train!
warp
luks: with an eeepc, coding also works for me.
aCiD2
warp: heh
luks: not for me, I seem to only sleep talk if I sleep on a bus :|
