I think it should also complain if you try to use an unknown flag

using the function method, you would get an error

I'm not sure what to do about that - it could die, it could warn, or it could just return false (as that's technically correct - it doesn't have that flag)

if you use a flag it doesn't know about, it's an error

aCiD2: at the time I didn't have a laptop... and i'm usually not much of a reader (unless it's coding books). i mostly spent my time either sleeping or on a gameboy.

sleeping is definitely the best way to spend time on a bus/train!

luks: with an eeepc, coding also works for me.
