how does the ratings feature in picard 0.12 work? Will it get the ratings I made on the web site for my account? I don't really get why I should specify an e-mail address in the settings
outsidecontext
mclemo: exactly
the -email adress is just an identifier, so there can be severel ratings in one file
ID3 specifies it to be an e-mail, but it might depend on the player you want to use
e.g. windows media player uses "Windows Media Player 9 Series" instead of an e-mail
MClemo
ah, ok. So it stores a tuple (identifier I made in settings at "Metadata \ Ratings", rating it got from account info from setting in "General") in the file
thanks for clearing this up
can I rate releases?
never used this feature ;)
in the settings there's only talk about tracks
outsidecontext
mclemo: no, only tracks.
MClemo
does itunes read the info for mp3s?
outsidecontext
AFAIK no
nikki
MClemo: did you see my message?
MClemo
nikki: yeah, thanks
nikki
ok :)
MClemo
not so nice that it seems to be gone from their website
outsidecontext: I'll test it anyway. That would be a nice feature for me
nikki
the key generation seems to be gone too
MClemo
hopefully they bring it up again
I don't like the mixer thing
still got my old key and it works, though
nikki nods
nikki
I have a handful of anon keys saved in various places on my computer
mr_maxis joined the channel
hi mr_maxis
mr_maxis
hi

mclemo: i think itunes only uses it's local database for the ratings and does not read the ratings tags at all
nikki
did you forgot to readd that collab link after you cancelled the one which was the wrong way around?
MClemo
outsidecontext: yeah, seems that way. I just googled for it
