Is there an easy way to add all of Libera's releases? (See http://site.futuramerlin.com/1779.html for a list.) I compiled that discography, and I'm not inclined to do it again. :-P

i guess if you want to do some mass-inserts/edits, you have to contact somebody involved in the coding of mb

perhaps the new mb version (aka NGS) will include more input methods

but i'm really not into that

You can add tags and ratings via the WS, but not much else.

It would be handy to have an api for editing.

Sure, but the likely end result of that would be that amount of open edits go up but the amount of voters stay the same. That's not the best situation to be in.

It's a similar reason why bulk importing isn't available, the voters wouldn't be able to keep up with the amount of new data being entered.

create a voter api and a voting-only-client for mobile phones

regarding storing playcount statistics / ratings in the tracks: i don't like that idea since these are so variable (over time)

i want them to contain only tags that really belong to THEM, not to ME

I would much rather have all the data together, that makes it easier for me to backup everything.

There is the popularimeter tag in ID3v2.4 though, that lets you store user specific play counts and ratings.
