I was asking whether it would fail because track 3 (which the edit doesn't touch) has already been changed by a different edit

I'd generally expect karaoke versions to be credited to the same artist as the normal song, but I don't edit them so I don't know what people who do think

Anyway, that annoying "voting no in the last minute" thing will thankfully stop being an issue soon, ianmcorvidae has a patch that would extend the duration of an edit a couple days after a No vote which is too close to the expiration date...

sadly it won't help with this one though

the normal song is typically credited to the singer, and karaoke versions are specifically created to *remove* the singer's contribution to the track

it makes no sense to me to have the karaoke version of a song credited to the singer

yet that's how thousands of releases have already been entered

also in general the track/recording artist is meaningless and just represents who it's credited to on the cover and we have relationships for saying who did what

it doesn't make sense if you interpret track artist as "performer", but that's not what track artist means :)

so it inherits from the release artist

it lists the three tracks with numbers next to them, and underneath each track lists one or two people

and it is the only such list of tracks anywhere in the packaging

Hello, So I'm new to the site and adding some releases to the database but I've come along something I don't really know where to put.... I've got a song that an artist released as a stand alone free download. It's not listed on his site but it's on his offical youtube page. How would I go about adding that?

Some people would add it as a promotional single

I'd just add it as a standalone recording

(so, from the sidebar of the artist page, "Add recording")
