ok i’ve looked for it for the first time, and the culprit is the font called "Open Sans"… when I remove that one from CSS it’s more readable (no more blur effect)

I'd expect so

I'd expect the same artist as the normal recording, except for cases when someone else is explicitely credited

(for the karaoke)

even if the main artist doesn't appear at all on the karaoke track

and the recordings are traditional works (i.e., there could be lots of karaoke versions with different orchestras playing them)

Artist credits are literally that

Anything else, we have relationships for, which make for much more interesting data anyway

ok. it looks like the track listing has nothing else listed

there are 4 cds, 2 are the main album, and the other 2 are exactly the same with no vocals

but the second 2 aren't listed in any different way

you’re removing cue numbers and putting them to latin althgough they are known in katakana… latin is for pseudo release (and the search for recording with latin will work thanks to pseudo release’s tracks)

(i only have my small subscription but already see quite a number of them… i know each no vote will generate email and have done too many already…)

Tecfan_: if two songs are by band1 and two by band2, that should probably be corrected, yes.

yep, recording ids go into the musicbrainz_trackid tag, and trackids go in the musicbrainz_releasetrackid tag (varies depending on format, of course)

While we’re on the topic: Anyone else have an opinion on whether English recording titles should be in Latin script even if they’re in katakana on the tracklist?

(I’m inclined to say yes, while jesus2099 and xps2 both think not.)

I don’t feel *that* strongly about it though, I just wish I didn’t get two dozen emails about it :-/

well, unless the artist does actually write them in latin characters most of the time, then that's not the main name.

consider the reverse. the Scorpions recorded a Japanese song, 'kojo no tuki'.

so? lots of japanese tracks have names with words that are english or were originally english written in katakana.

So maybe that's a bad example. If the various editions list it both ways, I'm fine with the non-latin recording title.

But in principle, I guess we have different senses of "weird" :-) . I can't think of any advantage to changing the script on the recording.

To me there is no particular need for a recording to match the tracklisting…I see the recording as a kind of “canonical form”.

Usually that means the most common track name, of course.

But I think English in Latin script is also pretty canonical.

Maybe I’m just misunderstanding or disagreeing with what other people want to get out of recording titles.
