Nyanko-sensei can you link one jasrac example? The edit note is big too but if we are getting too long URL with the elements we want to seed... It must be why POST was enabled for release editor... Maybe for the same reason it should be allowed for all seeds...
I should run some of the files on my computer through that

If they are flac and you have the cue sheet I believe you can use cuetools.

I am not sure otherwise how to use AR aside from the initial rip.

I have XLD installed

I guess the only way to test it is to do a test rip?
2015-06-01 15249, 2015
CJ_
I assume so.

I have had morituri tell me that I have an accurate rip while AR tells me that it is not. Currently I am setting those discs aside to investigate later.

Did you have to set an offset with XLD?

I haven't used the program in forever

I have never seen it. What did you use previously?

I normally use iTunes' onboard ripper

XLD is a Mac application, BTW (I take a lot of heat for using one)

I am familiar with XLD but have never seen it. Why would you take heat over XLD? My understanding is that dBa only recently came to Mac and previous to that XLD was the recommended program.

I would definitely expect you to take heat for using iTunes ripper, however. :)

I don't think I've had anyone comment on me using XLD
(sorry about the delay; I was trying to see if there was a French edition available)

ZaphodBeeblebrox wonders when people talk about "accurate rips" if they mean that the music is messed up? if not why it's important :/
2015-06-01 15235, 2015
kuno
ZaphodBeeblebrox: yes, the music can be messed up.
2015-06-01 15246, 2015
ZaphodBeeblebrox
that sucks

that almost never happens for me. even using itunes :)

ZaphodBeeblebrox: CD ROM drives are not good at reading audio tracks accurately, the main problem is that the software ripping the audio doesn't know if there is an error in the data it read.

ZaphodBeeblebrox
oh
2015-06-01 15208, 2015

ZaphodBeeblebrox: so perhaps you only have a small hiccup in one out of 50 cds you read or something, it would be super annoying to only discover that when you listen to it. You may not even notice it at first when it's a small error, but only the 20th time you listen to it or something.
2015-06-01 15230, 2015
ZaphodBeeblebrox
weeell yes but
2015-06-01 15258, 2015
kuno
ZaphodBeeblebrox: then you have to re-rip that CD, and go through the whole thing again, and you're still not sure there is no error in your rip.
2015-06-01 15221, 2015
ZaphodBeeblebrox
uhm.. just ript the one song and listne to it?
2015-06-01 15234, 2015
kuno
ZaphodBeeblebrox: if you're trying to rip your CD collection because you want to archive all of it digitally (and throw/give away your CDs), that's a shitty thing to do.
2015-06-01 15251, 2015
ZaphodBeeblebrox
well yes! but tat's not wha I do :)
2015-06-01 15200, 2015

Maybe I want to keep copies around of that music I liked in 1985, but I really don't enjoy it enough to repeatedly listen to it again looking for errors :)

So folks use EAC and AccurateRip to make sure a rip is good, and then you don't have to worry about it.
