I just obtained a copy of Toto IV off Discogs, from this release [r1878642].
The CD shows that it was printed in japan with DIDP 50012 printed on the medium. The disc shows all the signs that it was pressed in the original run in Japan ~1982.

I found this release by way of musicbrainz search linked from 6502529d-565e-34c6-be37-83b7c073767c. I followed the discogs release link so I can procure a copy.
The confusion comes from the discogs release page. First issue I have is the lack of release year. Second, it shows a listing of matrix runouts associated with the release but also a bunch of SID codes. This confuses me becasue the japanese pressing from 1982 is too early to have SID codes.
I think I got lucky because all evidence points to the face that my disc was printed in the original run in Japan. So, phe.
phew.
Is it uncommon for huge errors to exist on release pages like this? Or am I missing something about the way releases are documented?

"check one more time. have you read the guidelines regarding release dates?"
I see reosarevok has proposed some classical-specific community cleanups. When it's time to propose a more general one, I'd really like to tackle that report.

CallerNo6: I'm totally wanting that too (colab of the month)

CatQuest, let's do it. It could also serve as a "here's how to do release dates correctly" bootcamp.

meanwhile, my meditation of the day: the question isn't "is your music fake?", but "is your music fake enough?"
colbydray: i hope you can explain that a torrent is not per se illegal :p

how can I tell what type a relationship is? i.e. fellow artist, url, etc? is it type-id? if so, where do I get a list of those type IDs?
