Hey, question about linking recordings and works. Is there a standard when a recording is part of larger work. For example, should one just link movement 2 of a symphony to that movement, or should one also link it to the symphony as a partial recording? Both ways seem reasonable, but the former seems more DRY.
      • 2019-04-01 09137, 2019

      • toddobryan
Also, what do you do if there is no smaller work? For example, all 1509 tracks in the audiobook of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix are linked as partial works of the novel. There are no partial works (chapters or whatever), so I guess this is the best one can do.

toddobryan, correct, linking to the sub-work is preferred and DRY is preferred.

Of course, there are always exceptions. I trust the editors who worked on HP&tOotF who decided chapters wouldn't improve the data.
