rdswift: not sure. I must admit I was also bothered this not being a table anymore, but it is so much easier to maintain. And my spreadsheet is a bit special with all the color coding, as it is primarily for a comparison with Jaikoz. I don't really want to maintain a third representation of this data :(
Maybe if we could automate it, e.g. creating the current list view in the docs from a spreadsheet or such

are split records "Compilations"? I'd say no because they consist of new material and are not a record "compiled" of existing material… but in musicbrainz most splits seems to be tagged that way

pbnoxious: no
If they're marked as such they should be corrected unless it is actually reissued material
pbnoxious
reosarevok: is this consensus? Because I now found that even one of the examples (not for collaboration but for "artist credits") is a split release that uses "Collaboration"
I'm not sure what to do now and the other user doesn't seem to be responding anymore

I'm pretty sure I've never seen a cassette release where both sides are considered a single track?
But I don't do a lot of editing of cassettes with one giant long track across both sides, I guess...

darwin: theres a lot of those in the audio play series I tried adding the new release to, so I thought it'd be okay
darwin
f1refly: yeah, in niches in musicbrainz like this, precedent may or may not indicate correctness.

In any case, does musicbrainz permit some kind of "meta-release" that enables tagging a single file? Because regardless how this turns out, I still ripped the play from casette to a single file that I'd like to tag to a musicbrainz release

I would think generally no? Because it wouldn't be appropriate to tag a cassette album that way
even if you ripped it as a single file

King_DuckZ: have been looking into what is required to allow editing images for multiple selected files. Have a working patch, but needs some testing

This may not be the most appropriate place to ask, but has anyone here bought CDs on discogs before?
reosarevok
I don't think it's inappropriate at all, but I have't
haven't even

<outsidecontext> Maybe if we could automate it, e.g. creating the current list view in the docs from a spreadsheet or such: I'll see if I can set up a separate page as a table, build it automatically from the existing RST file, and then provide a link from the current page.

rdswift: if that would work that would be indeed great, yes
rdswift
I don't think it will be that hard -- famous last words. :-) I'll add a ticket and assign myself.
