        Ahh
      • Normally wikipedia has good images :)
      • Thanks for your help
      • I'm trying to tag as much as possible before the urge to play Bioshock Infinite gets much stronger ;)
      • Really? Only JPEG files? I could of sworn I uploaded some PNGs
      • The cover art still has to be "approved" before it will show in Picard?
      • hawke_1
No, the thumbnail has to be generated though
      • underscor joined the channel
      • and of course you’ll need to ctrl+r 'refresh' it in picard.
      • (or right-click on the release in picard and refresh)
      • kyomi
It was up and showing in Musicbrainz and I had refreshed multiple times
      • Even making the Cover Art Archive the only source, and it didn't help.. I just used the picture I downloaded and moved on :/
      • hawke_1
It takes a few minutes usually
      • depending on how fast archive.org makes the thumbnail
      • Hmm, not working yet for me either.
      • Thumbnails seem to have been generated though
      • Oh wait
      • kyomi: you didn’t set it as type: front. :-D
      • Picard only downloads front artwork by default
      • kyomi
        Oh.. crap.. I forgot I had to select it.. I just saw it in the list and assumed it was "front" sorry ^^;
      • hawke_1
Easy to fix, it’s an auto-edit
      • kyomi
        it was already selected*
      • hawke_1
just hit edit and choose front. :-)
      • kyomi
        When should it update?
      • *AWESOME* I now know the purpose of Clustering
      • Apparently I have a rip of the music from Bioshock and nothing that was "official".. so couldn't really put it into MB.. but Picard is an awesome tagger too :)
      • hawke_1
It will update as soon as it gets three votes, or an approval by an auto-editor.
      • I voted yes on it
      • (I thought setting a cover art type from nothing to something was an auto-edit though…anyone know if that changed intentionally?
      • reosarevok
        I thought it never was?
      • (ticket it)

I'm trying to add information about a cover version to a new release that I've added, but the work (song) that I want to create the relationship with doesn't exist. I've added two different relationships for two other songs correctly.
      • Can anyone walk me through this?
      • Here's the release that I have added, which shows that tracks 3 and 11 are cover versions: http://musicbrainz.org/release/88913fd0-fb69-47...
      • So now I'd like to add that http://musicbrainz.org/recording/e568089a-75be-... is a cover version of http://musicbrainz.org/recording/a0012773-fb46-... but I can only relate the two recordings to each other (which is incorrect) not the recording of the work
      • reosarevok
evilnick_: you should add a new work, if the one you want doesn't exist
      • And then relate it to both recordings :)
      • evilnick_
Great, can you point me to some documentation so I can do this?
      • reosarevok
        I don't think there's any
      • But it's not hard
      • Just Editing menu on the top
      • Add work
      • You add it
      • And then you relate it normally
      • (copy and paste the URL, relate to... on the recording pages, enter the relationship)
      • evilnick_
I shall give it my best shot!

      • Hmmmm, do I define the original song as being "is a {partial} {live} {instrumental} {cover} recording of..."?
      • reosarevok
        Yep
      • Just don't mark it as any of that, just a recording of :)
      • (the {} stuff are optional attributes)
      • evilnick_
        Ah!
      • evilnick_ sniggers
      • reosarevok: Thanks very much for the advice. Any chance of adding an example of how to do this to the FAQ or something, since if I didn't know how to use IRC I'd have given up on adding the info to the release? :)
      • reosarevok
        Hmm
      • I guess I can add a short how to, yes
      • I'll look into it! :)
      • evilnick_
Is there anything that I can do to help out?
      • reosarevok
        Well, sure!
      • You could create a wiki account and add some info to... dunno, maybe http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/How_to_Use_Works ?
      • And then I could use that as a start and maybe expand it a bit :)
      • evilnick_
Sounds like a plan, will do
