ianmcorvidae, what do you mean? printf has no other way of knowing which goes where. Some languages (e.g., python) have solved that (optionally), but printf isn't going away any time soon.

It's a way to specify which is supposed to be which.

Leftmost: I'm saying printf's syntax sucks for translated things like that :P

If the msgid is "%s: %i" and you need to translate it as "%i: %s", do "%2i: %1s".

I might be off on the exact syntax of that. If it's wrong, let me know and I can find out pretty quick which is right.

anyway, transifex is just being annoying

i entered the exact same translation online, and it didn't complain about it

i then downloaded the now-100%-translated .po file, and discovered the strings were saved exactly like i had written them before

then, without changing the newly downloaded file, i uploaded it back to transifex

and guess what

"syntax error"

the conclusion: i have yet to see an online translation system that doesn't suck one way or another :/
