it comes with these benefits:

- for the CD, you can do the physical scan of the cover art, and for the digital release you can just upload what came with it.

I have no idea what the idea is. if I had to guess I would say that it’s just for the sake of completeness.

you could turn the bytes of the zip file download into a bitmap image and call that the medium picture.

I wonder whether back+spine makes sense for a digital release, too.

I mean, it’s obviously artwork designed for a CD…but again, digital release → doesn’t have spine any more than it has a medium
