Hum, I did a few tracklists edit, like this one http://musicbrainz.org/edit/16815506 and I don't understand why it has already been applied, I thought it needed 3 yes votes to be applied, or 14 days, and it only had 1 vote and less than a day

It was approved by an autoeditor

hello again all - still having the issue with the VM image and networking. if i setup a ubuntu installation from scratch the network works fine... but using the image it doesn't :( any tips? i've changed various network settings and nothing is happening :(

kuushty: hm. perhaps the udev problem because the mac address changed?

remove /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules on the virtual machine, then reboot it.

assuming all the network settings in vmware / virtualbox are otherwise correct, that should get you a working eth0 again.

the problem i was having was the virtual machine couldn't see the network from that image

but now after your advice it works fine

Because it’s a recording, not a track…it could appear on any release, and be credited differently

So it seems best to keep artist credit = artist name on recordings, at least in most cases

Even more so if it happens to be just one of several names for that group (e.g. if they also go by “The Gerry Mulligan Orchestra” or “Gerry Mulligan and his band”)

also, I'm wondering why the "The" in the artist name because it isn't in the quartet nor the trio

_5moufl: I don't know much about the GM lineups. Were they stable? Example: the Miles Davis Sextet generally refers to the same six guys. Is that true for the GM quartet?

I only know about this particular release were one or two members will vary

I ask because in one school of thought, the quartet/whatever-tet would be merged into Gerry Mulligan unless it was a fairly stable "band".

I'm not saying you should do that. Just curious.
