Is the only way to add releases from the web interface?

Are there alternatives interfaces for musicbrainz, or a lib to code one?
nikki
unfortunately the web interface is the only want to add releases
er, the only way
there are libs out there for reading data from mb though
konr
nikki: it wouldn't be hard to write a client to deal with it, right?
with the adding process
nikki
hmm... it's not hard to write things to seed the release editor
but submitting an entire release without using the web interface at all is harder since you'd need to find artist ids and stuff, and I doubt we'd condone it right now for various reasons
it is something quite a few people have expressed an interest in though

I would have a look at picard's add cluster as release, that lets you take an unmatched cluster and open the site with the track names already filled in
konr
that'd be very useful!

3% of albums were correctly detected and a lot of false positives were generated. Is the correct procedure to delete these and add every everything else by hand?
And I found out that they seem to just use "Mascara" and "Ceremonial Dagger"
Nah, that's the "genre"
They all love to use these weird symbols
CatCat
i give fuck all about genre
idf that's the line then Mascara and Ceremonial Dagger should be the sort name
reosarevok
Yeah, I found it later
In this case it even makes some sense
CatCat
not to me
ð sounds nothing like o
it's d or th
reosarevok
Yeah, but it "looks" like an o
CatCat always forgets which is which
(in their twisted mind)
CatCat
nope.
haha they are lame
reosarevok
I mean, there is
//▲▲▲\\\
Which is pronounced "Void"
:p
CatCat
but that's not supposed ot be anything
it's for the luls
reosarevok
And
GuMMy†Be▲R!
And lots of random names like that
CatCat
i have this pet peeve with (usually english speaking) bands/etc that use "unicode" for "oohh i'm so cool" effect (not including heavy metal umlaut)
things liek tool or whatver callign an album "Ænima" thinkign it sounds liek something it totally doesn't
reosarevok
Well, I've always found the heavy metal umlaut equally silly
But yeah, it is silly
If a release is a track-by-track remix of another
CatCat
it looks like they used a computer and went through charmap looking for "exotic stuff" that "kinda looks like another letter"
reosarevok
Should I add the AR to the releases as well as the tracks?
CatCat
uh...
reosarevok
And yeah, I bet that's basically what they did
CatCat
i think.. idk? i think remix album link is for when the album is a remixed into one song..
but remix album -album... idk
ask someone else I think
someone who works like fwith that. luks might know
re heavy metal umlaut: i think it's the severity of it, if a band or thing does it just a little it's ok i think, just for fun. but if the whole everything is liek that. lame
you know? not overdo it
CatCat is of to make food
reosarevok
Enjoy your food!
reosarevok should cook but he's too lazy
