so this data quality proposal. when artist quality is changed, will it affect the releases in that artist?

kilu: artist quality on affects edits to the artist. releases are unaffected, each release will have its own quality level set

was one of the goals of this to reduce the amount of edits? by adding one more thing to vote about :p

it was to stop pointless edits, like people who want to rename all japanese artists into latin script. It doesnt create more votes, just changes how many votes an edit needs and what happens if it doesnt get enough votes

my point was that by introducing quality control edits we are reducing pointless edits. so, we just changed from one form of edit to another. though better one, I don't think it will dramatically affect the edit totals

It may increase the queue, as some edits will stay open for longer, but then low quality will require less votes & so get through quicker, so the queue may go down.

but surely the quality control edits will be in the queue as well. which will increase it. how it balances out is of course another thing altogether

probably there will quite a bit of quality control edits in the beginning, but slow down in time

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, a mad rush to set quality, then I doubt there will be many after that

I don't care about the generation process, I'm only looking for one which allows me to create the models

Well, my implication was.. don't bother, write the code, and get it to generate the UML for you. Unless you actually care, and aren't just doing this for brownie points. :)

there's quite a list on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UML_tools) but I can't be arsed checking them all

There's only one main requirement and that's that it should run on Windows and only preferably on linux as well

for the rest it should be easy to use without much fuss

yes, but there is a lot of new/changes texts so the old ones are quite broken right now
