I just "got" it and haven't listened yet. Although I'm wondering if her sales will be as good after here little gaff on the Japanese talk shows.

no idea about that.

oddly enough, the packaging only has kanji/kana on the back, even for LAST ANGEL, which is a collaboration with a korean boy band >_<

She got suspended for saying something like "all women over 35 have rotten amniotic fluid so they're useless for having kids" or something like that; and even Japan's family values of all women being married before 30 people were pissed. But I'm not sure if her CD sales were halted or just her public appearances.

Kerensky97: i don't think CD sales were halted. from what I read, just some promotion got cancelled. among those a deal with some cosmetics company.

I'm unable to get to http://www.nabble.com . I see a page with says, "Unable to forward this request at this time." Is anyone else able to get through at the moment?
warp: So I can answer, what are the *2* different definitions, as you see them?
2008-02-25 05606, 2008
nikki
two definitions of what?
2008-02-25 05646, 2008
warp
BrianFreudf: I've complained about it often enough, you really should know ;)
2008-02-25 05607, 2008
warp
BrianFreudf: the one on StylePrinciple is completely different from the one on ConsistentOriginalData itself.
2008-02-25 05642, 2008
warp
BrianFreudf: I think the one on StylePrinciple is what was originally intended for ConsistentOriginalData. the one on the page seems a different idea.
2008-02-25 05612, 2008
BrianFreudf
What definition on Style Principle?
2008-02-25 05629, 2008
BrianFreudf
this? If, however, something is consistently labelled in a different style on official sources, then this classifies as ConsistentOriginalData
2008-02-25 05647, 2008
warp
yes.
2008-02-25 05622, 2008
BrianFreudf
I don't think it contradicts.
2008-02-25 05627, 2008
BrianFreudf
The other definition is: "If no definite proof can be found for the correct spelling/punctuation, the most common version of the track title is to be used."
2008-02-25 05633, 2008
warp
i'm not saying it contradicts.
2008-02-25 05640, 2008
warp
i'm saying it's two seperate things.
2008-02-25 05649, 2008
BrianFreudf
'on official sources' would seem to provide 'definite proof'
2008-02-25 05645, 2008
warp
'the most common' is implies the data is NOT consistent. whereas the data being consistent on official sources is a requirement for the definition on StylePrinciple.
2008-02-25 05617, 2008
warp
they're two different guidelines, we use both of them in day-to-day musicbrainz editting. but it would be so much better if we could give them two different names.

I think that sentence on SP misphrases COD - it's really talking about AI, not COD
2008-02-25 05647, 2008
warp
no, it's not about AI
2008-02-25 05601, 2008
BrianFreudf
'something is consistently labelled in a different style on official sources' != AI?
2008-02-25 05626, 2008
warp
official sources is more like publishers intent :)
2008-02-25 05620, 2008
BrianFreudf
meh, in that reading, that sentence of SP is officially bork - we override any "Label Intent" by applying just about any guideline
2008-02-25 05644, 2008
warp
in general, you can claim to infer AI from consistently labeled sources, yes. but if the artist claims something else in an interview, that is actual AI, which trumps ConsistentOriginalData according to the StylePrinciple.

My take on SP though is that the top part is the 'official' bit - so "If neither 1 nor 2 are applicable, use ConsistentOriginalData." The lower half I take as a 'common translation, but not official'
