first, check out the feedback of the seller. if it's below 98%, log in, look at the negative feedback on that user in the last 12 months.

e.g. when buying GBA games or anime DVDs. sellers with a rating below 98% is a good indication that they're selling bootlegs. (wwhich means that 97% of the buyers don't even fucking notice).

don't trust sellers who don't have paypal as an option. paypal has fairly decent buyer protection, and you can open a dispute and get your money back.

if a seller only wants e.g. western union or bank transfer... avoid. they're avoiding paypal for a reason.

but if you know those things, buying from ebay can be worth it.

especially if you find lots of things on ebay cheap... then the savings make up for the occasional item which doesn't fit the description.

if the cd is used, it could be scratched or otherwise damaged. people tend to say 'light scratches' when the disc is horribly scratched.

in .nl we have www.marktplaats.nl (marketplace) and www.speurders.nl. I like using those for bigger stuff, because they often have phone numbers and I can just call and arrange things... and go there to pick it up, so I can inspect it before buying.

btw it's possible to use google web history and diigo on opera, which are the main useful extensions

also i have safari open with 4 tabs as last fm is beign wonky in oepra

my opera only crashes occasionally, even then I get all my tabs back in seconds

and opera also has a java thing similar to downthemall

but thats to do with soem cookie or soemthing, becasue the flash tingy thinsk im logged otu even thoghu im not

But for some reason Opera freezes on me. I try it occasionally, like it, then it starts doing that again.

"freezes" meaning it responds ok but it won't load anything.

but on the mac its a bit buggy in that if you close it yo uhave to kill it completely or else if it gets a niglet to open a new window/tab/whatever it deletes the memory of what was open

occasionally it pukes on a site and just sits beachballing, but I can kill it instantly and have it reopen in a couple of seconds
