UncleRemus: That's a challenge for sure. Also, finding the exact match between your track and the earliest release of that track can be difficult, even for modern releases.

Earliest release vs. earliest version -- without the actual collection of original releases, it's near impossible to determine if it's the same release. Track times can help, but if recordings went back 60 years, could be a challenge.

Yes, seems like that to me also. But taking away the year indications from the track title should be correct in any case, right?

I have one question, If I do install a db mirror will the database be updated automatically when a new song or a new edit is entered in the main musicbrainz database?

there's a script which you can run periodically to install updates

the updates are produced every hour

to take the changes from the main server and make those changes in your local copy? oh whatever, you get the idea

so it's a pull mechanism, which retrieves updates only as they are periodically packaged up for distribution?
