isn't there a test version already?
2009-06-30 18106, 2009
ruaok
I think so, but I'm not keen on testing browsers.

ruaok
I want my browsers to be reasonably stable.

I want my browsers to be reasonably fast and this is something chrome for linux can multitudes better than firefox on linux
2009-06-30 18109, 2009
pronik
speaking of fast: I've ordered by new notebook today :)
2009-06-30 18121, 2009

I only carry my laptop when I travel. and even then its a light one.
2009-06-30 18139, 2009

pronik: well I think my old 13" macbook is too big to carry around all the time :)
2009-06-30 18159, 2009

mine will be a 12", so it's a bit less ;)
2009-06-30 18105, 2009

warp: thats what I've got now and its near the limit of what I want to carry.

eeepc is too small for me...
2009-06-30 18147, 2009

same here, but if commuted the way warp does, I'd find a way to make it work.

the keyboard is a bit cramped. but I have no trouble reading the screen when having gnome-terminal set up as 160 characters when full screen.
2009-06-30 18105, 2009
warp
(which is important, because 160 characters fit two source files side-by-side :)
2009-06-30 18131, 2009
nikki
I'm ok with the eee's keyboard in general, it's just the keys round the edge, like I keep hitting up instead of shift
2009-06-30 18144, 2009
nikki
I wish my fingers used the left shift more :/
2009-06-30 18107, 2009

hmm, I do have trouble typing when my nails get long though

i'm annoyed that some keys are smaller than others. when using dvorak it doen't really match up right.
2009-06-30 18120, 2009

yeah, it annoys me that the apostrophe is so narrow. I use them more than things like z and x and q and j and *they're* not tiny ¬_¬

this is the second time that picard has begun refusing to save any tags
2009-06-30 18119, 2009
devicenull
is there any way to see why?
2009-06-30 18126, 2009

I click save on a song, and it does nothing
2009-06-30 18158, 2009

devicenull: usually it will render an error message in the statusbar at tho bottom of the picard window.
2009-06-30 18107, 2009

(for example if the files are read only)
2009-06-30 18134, 2009
devicenull
apparently I scared it by asking in irc, since it just started working
2009-06-30 18144, 2009
warp
but there are also ways you can get picard to log in more detail what's going on. i don't remember how to do that though.
2009-06-30 18144, 2009
devicenull
oor maybe closing itunes did it
2009-06-30 18105, 2009
devicenull
odd, I can get it to start again by scanning another file and waiting a bit
2009-06-30 18122, 2009

that should let me get through all the stuff it scanned I suppose

wat does the 10 mean at end of this? count = int(tag.count[0].text.strip(), 10)
2009-06-30 18138, 2009
alastairp
the base, probably
2009-06-30 18105, 2009
RifRaf
ok thanks, alastairp are you the lastfm coder?
2009-06-30 18102, 2009
RifRaf
am trying to work out how to deal with the toptags returned from lastfm
2009-06-30 18112, 2009
alastairp
nope
2009-06-30 18114, 2009
alastairp
:)
2009-06-30 18142, 2009
RifRaf
in the 1.0 api the maximum count for the tag was 100, like a percentage, with the 2.0 api the counts seem to be the actual number, and go into the millions at times
2009-06-30 18137, 2009
RifRaf
so need to change the count value to be a percentage of the highest count found for each tag i think
2009-06-30 18109, 2009
Muz
Just because the maximum count was 100, that doesn't mean it's a percentage.
2009-06-30 18123, 2009
Muz
It was a relative score.
2009-06-30 18131, 2009
RifRaf
Muz nope, is just the way i interperated it, but it never goes above 100
2009-06-30 18145, 2009
Muz
That still doesn't make it a percentage. ¬_¬
2009-06-30 18106, 2009
RifRaf
i know, but now that they are more than 100 my script won't work and trying to fix it
"Get the top tags for this track on Last.fm, ordered by tag count."
2009-06-30 18126, 2009
RifRaf
yep been using that as a guide
2009-06-30 18144, 2009
alastairp
maybe it means they are the top by tag count, but that list isn't ordered
2009-06-30 18125, 2009
RifRaf
the sample responce shows counts under 100, but if you click the example the counts are way higher
2009-06-30 18138, 2009
RifRaf
looks like the example was made with the 1.0 api version
2009-06-30 18129, 2009
RifRaf
or there is a way to convert them, but using same url structure as example, just adding &raw=true to the end
2009-06-30 18111, 2009
RifRaf
to remove the <lfm status="ok"> part
2009-06-30 18146, 2009
RifRaf
hrm i don't like these new counts, i think its going to give all sorts of false results
2009-06-30 18156, 2009
RifRaf
eg, for cher-believe rock and electronic have far higher counts than pop, but they are way down the list
2009-06-30 18129, 2009
RifRaf
so am going to try import the tags in the order retrieved and ignore the count?
2009-06-30 18142, 2009
futilius has quit
2009-06-30 18110, 2009

Muz so do you know how the counts would be calculated if they are not a percentage type score out of 100?
2009-06-30 18133, 2009
RifRaf
like wat is it relative to?

i had an album... i am a boy now (extended) which included several bonus tracks from other singles and EPs etc... when i tried to add this to picard it put all the bonus tracks in their actual EP and single releases instead of an "extended" album... i dont think there is an extended release on the MB site... how do i add it through picard?
