gucharmap goes up to U+10FFF8, which is 1114104 decimal and "<Plane 16 Private Use>" apparently.

and I've installed it on here, which has /home and / on separate drives

desktop machine

and multi-user workstation

for me its vmware on a 4 gig virtualdrive
