there's a cool music project I found and I wanted to help keep it going

it's basically writing a song democratically

by anonymous voters on the internet

67,000 people have voted for the melody (one note at a time) and that is complete

now 20,000 so far have voted for the lyrics (one word at a time)

Personally, I'd say yes. Most Japanese releases' barcodes are located on the obi rather than the case itself.

Still, I'd include the barcode even if it's only on a sticker (provided that sticker is from the original manufacturer, not a reseller)

Personally, I see the obi as being sort of a different thing, as it's not clearly intended to be thrown away. The plastic seals are pretty clearly meant as trash (and it takes special effort to get it off in one piece).

I'm torn on the matter, though I lean strongly toward not including the barcode. Just not convinced it's right.

Leftmost: a barcode is an identifier for a thing, whether the identifier is printed on it or not shouldn't matter for entering it into MB

Leftmost: however, without the identifier printed on thing, it can be difficult to determine the identifier... so if you're not sure, it's better to leave it off.

I have the plastic seal from that release, and confirmed it based on that, but wouldn't have been able to without it.

If you're reasonably certain you have the right UPC code, I think it should be entered into MB.

libussa: there are plenty of userscripts for people who edit classical releases.

sadly, editing the recording artist is not a straightforward thing

and sometiems it's easier to just add the release with the performers first thne make a second edit and change it to the composer _witouth_ copying this change to the recordings

another way, is to have a script that lets you change the artist for recordings based on what relationships tat recording has
