I thought, auto-editors can do it by themselves...
Freso
I mean, 40 minutes is a lot less than 3 days. :)
xplt: Not destructive edits.
(Which merges are.)
xplt
Then... Is there any point in gaining auto-editor flag nowadays?
Freso
kepstin: Back when I was toying around with Linux on floppy disks (before I switched), there was one "security" focused one I tried which had a small program that allowed you to play music by converting the audio to images on your monitor which you could then pick up on a standard FM receiving radio and listen to.
It was interesting.
(And also a reminder that just because someone can’t physically see the light from your monitor doesn’t mean they can’t "see" your monitor.)
xplt: I mean, we’ve been working on making the autoeditor flag less significant for quite some time.
There are still some things that autoeditors can push through faster than others though.
(Luckily, modern monitor emit far less radiation/radio waves than old CRT ones, so the range for "listening in" is much reduced these days.)
xplt
Yeah :)
reosarevok
xplt: there's still a fair amount of things that can be done faster (such as fixing issues in releases added by others)
xplt
Ah, I see

Or, for classical, changing all the recording credits
A lot of that should probably be made available to others without vote, but not before we have some sort of "UNDO THIS!" button

CatQuest would love a "UNDO THIS!" button for own edits, like accidentally adding te wron relationship to 20+ recordings for example
Fair too :)

Releases added with no external links and the edit note consisting only of "added" :(
reosarevok
Well, it's added! :D
(if it's recent, do leave a note asking for details)

More than a year ago, by a now-inactive editor. But I managed to find a source

for MB it would be as on cover but for my own music library, how would you spell "Smif N Wessun" ?
Smif-n-Wessun, Smif N Wessun, Smif ’n’ Wessun ?
the last one makes more sense to me
CatQuest
well since it's *your* library I'd go with what *you'd* find the most sensical
Lotheric
but I want your opinion !
:)
I just don't want 3-4 artists variations in my library because their name is spelled inconsistently across albums
elomatreb[m]
insert rant about music players still not supporting MBID tags
Lotheric
it would be nice wouldn't it ?
:)
I'm surprised my car support flac
elomatreb[m]
I've been working on an MPD client for a while now that supports at least some basic MBID functionality (primarily disambiguating artists, but also stuff like proper multiple artists per track)
I first started out writing a full music player from scratch but that was way too much trouble

"accidentally"
rdswift
<reosarevok> ...but not before we have some sort of "UNDO THIS!" button. Something like the way things are handled using Git would be neat. I have no idea how it could be implemented. Somehow I don't think it would be scalable to accommodate all the MB data.
The database would need to maintain a "diff" for each edit, in order to allow any sort of undo or rollback.
CatQuest
SothoTalKer: yea, actually, sometimes I make mistakes fancy that! >:|
...why do you gotta be like that :(
elomatreb[m]
For everything but destructive edits (i.e. merges and deletes) a "Generate undo edit" button shouldn't need any more information than what we already have in the edit history view
SothoTalKer
CatQuest: don't take it personally, please. i personally value what you do :)
CatQuest
uh huh.
SothoTalKer: I never know whne you're serious and when you're bullshitting
SothoTalKer
ye, its hard to tell. sometimes i don't even know it myself o,o

I don't see the green send to picard button on release pages, is it hidden?
SothoTalKer
you need to connect to port 8000 i think?
zentropy
restarted picard
should I restart the browser?
SothoTalKer
you just need to add ?tport=8000 to the url
zentropy
that worked
never had to do that before
SothoTalKer
if you open a link from within picard it should add it automatically
zentropy
after adding ?tport=8000 to one tab, the green button appeared on both tabs, including the tab without ?tport=8000
