What's the recommended practice for double-sided vinyl discs? I understand that we don't usually make those two different discs, but should the track number represent it at least? As in, one disc with A1-A5 and B6-B10, for example?
Or just ignore the double-sidedness and number them 1-10 on a single medium?

hi2all. i have troubles with new picard version (2.3) by using it on work (throught proxy). Get errors like: webservice._handle_reply:393: Network request error for http://api.acoustid.org:80/v2/lookup: Network access is disabled. (QT code 99, HTTP code 0)

Darkloke: have you configured the proxy in Picard options?
Darkloke
outsidecontext: actually not, never used it - i am using proxifier at work and picard worked okay. i rollead back to 2.1.3 and it works normally, so it seems something changed in new version.
outsidecontext
obly thing I can imageine could be related is that we updated the Qt5 library
but I'm also not familiar how proxifier works. could you try configuring the proxy in picard if possible?
reosarevok
apetresc: what you sugested :)
Except I'd usually do A1-A5 and then B1-B5

Hello contributors! I'm Arpita Jha from University of Pune, India. I'm looking forward to contribute to Metabrainz projects. I've used Musicbrainz picard and the android application. My area of interests include Python, Postgres and React Native. Can someone please guide me where should I begin contributing? I would also like to contribute to
documentations. Any help over it would be highly appreciated.

outsidecontext: from what i understand picard intercepts calls to winsock dll and now as i see it detects no picard activity (for previous version it detects calls and shows them as connections).

CatQuest: Do you play Pokémonn Sword or Shield?
CatQuest
eh. both. but I've gotten longest in shield
hibiscuskazeneko has both, but has only played Shield
hibiscuskazeneko
The reason I asked is there are some Pokémon that are only obtainable through controlled trades (i.e. Escavalier and Accelgor)
Are you up to doing that?
(helping me and yourself get them, that is)
CatQuest
eh. sure. but don't you need to pay some online fee thing?
(also i havent yet gotten one of those but)
once i doo. sure?
hibiscuskazeneko
You do need a Nintendo Switch Online membership, yes
CatQuest
but I don't have that and i don't plan on getting it eiter
hibiscuskazeneko got one a few months ago
hibiscuskazeneko
I see
CatQuest
sorry! :(
I don't want to reward them for making thingsthat should be free (and indeed was) pay-for
they'll just continue with this until you have to pay to play or what not

Oh, it gets better.
They're releasing an "expansion" this coming summer.
CatQuest
i already know
hibiscuskazeneko
Of course you have to pay extra for it, and reportedly all the content is on the cartridge already.
Remember that "Make Way for DLC" song from a few years back?
CatQuest
nope, never heard it
hibiscuskazeneko
It's on YouTube (which I won't link for your sake)
CatQuest
:)
hibiscuskazeneko
It's a parody of "Prince Ali" from Aladdin with lyrics about this very business model

It seems in picard 2.3.0 $is_complete() returns a false value while previously, it returned "0", so it broke my file naming script. It's easily fixed by replacing $eq($is_complete(),0) with $not($is_complete()). But I mention it just in case any of you thinks it's worth to mention that change in the documentation in https://picard.musicbrainz.org/docs/scripting/
