Ok, anyway i adressed my question to original author, just hoped may be someone could help me here too. Question was about code line: "target: credit.artist". I suppose here i can choose artist type (writer, composer, etc.), but i dont get how.
reosarevok
Darkloke: I think right now it doesn't choose anything - it just selects the default
I'm sure there's a way of selecting composer, though. If you have the dialog open, you can probably change the value of the select element
Play with it a bit, see what the value should be with inspecting the select dropdown on MB I guess

Thanks, reosarevok. The problem here is that i dunno MB functions, classes and etc. which used in the script, so i have no idea how to address them. :(

AcousticBrainz Extractor doesnt work anymore? Everytime "Submitted 0 feature file(s)" for albums, which dont have acouticbrainz data.

painstakingly put a few tens of releases up on musicbrainz several years ago, never could get most of my music tagged properly. just used beets with mb auto-import, now a strong majority of my library is satisfactory. mpd + beets + mb, the dream is real thanks community members
the album proper is LACA-15820, the bonus disc is LAPP-1118
usually 2 disc releases have different catalog numbers
Cheezmo
I would just include both catalog numbers on the 2 disc release. If the 2nd disc was never actually available on its own, it shouldn't be an independent release in my opinion.
kimiko_0
hmm, you have a point
just seems like a waste to have to enter the whole thing again if all the info is exactly the same (in particular the catalog number and picard fingerprint stuff)

ah well, off I go to add a new release then
been a while, so I hope I don't make any mistakes :o
Cheezmo
You will add a new release and you will like it ;-)
kimiko_0
lol
Cheezmo
If you do I'm an auto editor, I can help clean things up if need be.

I'll be back when I'm done then
what URL type would the label's official page on the release be? "discography entry"?
CardinalWolseley
There is some ambiguity with SACDs. Most SACDs have separate layers for SACD stereo, CD stereo, and SACD multi-channel.
MB Style Guide says we should enter them as separate layers, but can enter them as as single “Hybrid SACD” layer if the tracks are the same on each layer (which they usually are).
But if a given SACD has been entered as separate identical layers we should leave them as is.
all three versions as a single “Hybrid SACD” entity, should identical tracks on separate layers not also be merged?
What about merging the identical tracks on the separate layers? Given that it would be acceptable to enter all three versions as a single “Hybrid SACD” entity, should identical tracks on separate layers not also be merged?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Cheezmo
Read it carefully, it says "they CAN be" entered as one layer for convenience but not to combine them I believe.
CardinalWolseley
Correct
CatQuest
kimiko_0: it's actually not hardto make another exactly the same, you cna even "reuse" the disc 1 fro mthe other release
Cheezmo
I'm not sure what the question is. If they are the same, you can enter them once if you are in a hurry or don't care, but if they have been entered separately, leave it that way.
reosarevok
CardinalWolseley: the sacd stereo and cd stereo should be the same but the 5.1 or whatever should be separate, ideally
(IIRC, I don't own sacds)
kimiko_0
CatQuest: yeah, that's what I'm doing
Cheezmo
CatQuest: kimiko_0: There are lots of open edits on the one he is copying don't know if I would approve them as I don't know japanese stuff very well.
kimiko_0
she, please
also, yeah, those edits are mine.
Cheezmo
But there are SACD releases where the CD layer and SACD stereo layer have different content.
CatQuest
ah, link pls
kimiko_0
the person who entered the release used english transliterations instead of the original japanese text
CatQuest
not uncommon for people who cannot read jpanaese :)
myself i only know a little, but i have ways of translating
Cheezmo
If I enter an SACD release, I add all the layers. If I encounter an SACD release where they aren't separate I separate them.
CardinalWolseley
If the different layers have diofferent content then fair enough. But if they're all the same content it is clumsy to enter a single SACD as three separate identical layers.
kimiko_0
maybe, but that's not what I want out of musicbrainz ^_^
CatQuest
kimiko_0: do yo uhave a link to this thing os i cna see if some of these shoudl be approved first liek Cheezmo said
Cheezmo
There would not be 3 identitical layers, the multichannel mixes are always different recordings.
